"Significantly Less" Than 1% Of Halo Players Have Every Possible Achievement

Halo fans are notoriously hardcore, but even in the Halo community, there are only a hardened few who are willing to  attempt the seemingly impossible: unlocking every achievement in each Halo game (that has achievements and includes map packs) so far. That includes Halo 3, Halo Wars and the recently released Halo 3: ODST. According to Halo Waypoint creative director Jason Pace, the number of people who've achieved that feat is less than 1%. Significantly less, actually.

"When we did our high-level analysis…it's less than 1% of players who will come in with everything, it's actually significantly less than 1%," said Pace in a wide-ranging interview about the upcoming Halo hub for Xbox Live, Halo Waypoint, from a few weeks back.

This information was very important to Pace, as Halo Waypoint's meta ranking system is based on the achievements players have and haven't unlocked in the Halo games on Xbox 360. Eventually Halo Waypoint will include challenges not tied to existing achievements, but for the near future, that's the system in place, which makes the less-than-1% scenario a good one.

"There will certainly be some uber-hardcore players with pretty much everything maxed out," he said, "but the vast majority of the Halo audience, even the hardcore fanbase, will find themselves not maxed out in either the career milestones or the rewards."

Pace's analysis actually found Halo players falling into two camps: single-player or multiplayer.

"It's interesting when you take a look at the player profiles and distribution of achievements," he noted. "You would frequently assume that hardcore multiplayer folks wouldn't be the people who generally have the most achievements. That is not always the case. There are a lot of multiplayer folks who doesn't focus on, for example, on getting a lot of the single-player campaign achievements. The average person, the average sort of regular Halo player, should probably come in somewhere in the middle of the milestone range."

What kind of Halo player are you? If you're someone who actually has unlocked every possible achievement across Halo 3, Halo Wars and Halo 3: ODST, get in touch with me.

I have all of the achievements in Halo 3, Halo: ODST, Halo Wars and, since I'm reading this so late, even halo Reach. I am definately looking forward to the New Map pack for Reach that will bring forth even more achievements!

I have all of the Halo game achievements which include Halo Wars, Halo 3, Halo ODST and Halo 2 PC. My gtag is Chaos Reaper X. For some reason micro$oft has not added my general achievement for Halo Wars (do not know why), but if you add up my gamerscore you will see the numbers work out. So consider me in the less than 1% percentile.

I have all the achievements for Halo 3 and for Halo 3: ODST, I completed Halo Wars but I am still missing 500 points (300 on the original game + 200 on DLC).

I was accepted in the XBOX Live Update Preview program and I was awarded all the 40 Milestones available. For having completed all of the ODST achievements I got avatar rewards that included a free ODST costume and a Recon helmet.

I just wish they included the Halo 2 PC achievements (I have some of those too).

i've got 1750 in halo 3 and the full 1000 in ODST, but i don't play RTS's so i didn't buy halo wars. that dismisses me from the stats from the get go. what i don't understand is why they did not include halo 2 for the PC. that has achievements, so that should count.

I got all halo 3 acheivements. All Odst acheivements also.51 halo wars acheivements. ( this is partialy due to me getting rrod about a week after odst that is why it took about 3 weeks to get odst and i havent finished halo wars because my halo wars disk broke) So where do i fit in?

Note: i always brag about one thing my 2mil(aprox.) figherfight run on lost platoon(endure run)

I have all the achievments in Halo 3 and ODST, and all but 5 in Halo Wars. but honestly I'm not paying $10 for 3 gamemodes that are lame to get 4 of those, and having two kids makes it really hard to find time to play online for that stupid General achievement, plus the online matches are boring with everyone only using the same type of unit over and over and rushing and such. Not worth my time.

I'll probably never get the vidmaster challenges since I have no patience. Either you like Halo or you don't.

Played Halo, 1 own Halo 2, so I think it's time for me to check Halo 3 out. I'm interested in this Halo Waypoint. I want to see what it's about.

I have all the Halo 3 Achievements everything but the 200,000 firefight ones in ODST but I really didn't care enough about Halo Wars to bother going after everything. It's not shocking that less that 1% have it considering all the boosters you see online trying to get Generals in Halo 3. I bet subtracting the multiple accounts could shift it more in the other directions but there are also alot of people who don't care so I could be wrong.

ALL of you seem to be forgetting that there was another Halo game that also had achievements - and that game, my friends, is Halo 2 for Windows Vista. It seems everyone is forgetting about PC gaming these days...

I need 2 more for Halo 3, 5 for ODST, and a few(I'm guessing around 10) in Halo Wars.
