The next adventure for Sam Fisher is Xbox 360 exclusive. The developers have dodged questions about a PlayStation 3 port time and time again, as the details regarding the exclusivity remain a secret. Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat didn't dismiss the possibility of Splinter Cell: Conviction coming to PlayStation 3 in an interview with Videogamer.com, but he didn't make it sound like it's happening anytime soon.
"There is always hope," said Mallat, discussing anxious PS3 fans. "I can't predict the future. But it's good to hear that people who can't play Splinter Cell are willing to."
"Hope" most likely means whenever the exclusivity period runs out. Unfortunately, unless Microsoft decides it wants to start talking about that (unlikely), it's probably best to just not think about it.

The PS3 has 2 good NEW game franchises this gen LBP and Uncharted 2. The 360 has Mass Effect, Bioshock, Gears of War, L4D, Crackdown, Saints Row. Bioshock was so good $ony had to blow Irrational Games just to get a port.

Splinter Cell is never going to the PS3 keep dreaming. The PS3 cannot handle ports, your system can never play a game correctly. I feel sorry for your crappy investment.

I love the series and it would be a big disappointment if the game suddenly became exclusive to one system.

When I take a break from gaming I like to trash the fankids. Is that so wrong? It's fun. They feel bad enough owning a 360 and being stuck with one of the worst libraries I've ever seen on a console. Why not knock them down a few more pegs since they've spent so long bashing the PS3 and Wii?

Honestly, these discussions are infantile.
I think being happy with your own system should not mean that you need to tear down the competition.
The amount of energy that goes into spouting this sort of idle venom (and researching insipid facts) would be better spent on something more meaningful like cleaning out navel lint.
Some people on both sides of this great divide need to reexamine their tolerance for others.
I truly hope that you are never faced with a real test of tolerance like a "foreigner" moving into your neighborhood or talking to someone on the phone who has an accent.

How do you tell the good games from the crap games? The good stuff is worth the time and money to port to PS3. The crap stays on 360. That's all it boils down to, and that's a fact.
More facts. 360's sales rate is inflated with replacements, the userbase is tiny. M$ can only buy games, they can't make them nor do they own companies who can. The PS3 isn't perfect but at least I found a variety of decent games. Several of which used to be called 360 exclusives. The devs need money, and the small userbase of 360 isn't enough.

Ummmmm...... What? The PS3 has only had one good month this year and all of a sudden its the best selling system? Maybe you should stop making jokes about people coming home from school and go back yourself so you can learn how to count. 360 is still ahead of the PS3 in sales genius. Not only that the PS3 software hardly ever makes the top 10.

There are three ways to make exclusives...One is that your system is the only one capable enough. Two, you can buy them by paying money.
Or three, you can create them yourself. Microsoft likes the third option the most. But this is the option that doesn't benefit its players as much, because it doesn't add anything to the system-it just subtracts stuff from everyone else. They payed $50 million to take the GTA DLCs away from the ps3, while they could have used it to make a new AAA title. Last time i checked the Killzone 2 production cost was around $20 million. Microsoft could have created 2 games of the quality of Killzone 2 while keeping the GTA DLCs and still have $10 million to spare. Buying exclusivity can be expensive and thats why i don't think its a good idea.
Sony likes the second option and thats why it has many new franchises, but is loosing many exclusives due to the first option-as of now, the xbox 360 (only held back by its 9gb dvds) can run just about any game the ps3 has.
This is the way i see it.

Dude your a total tool, claiming the PS3 outsold the 360 in 2008. The NPD numbers are as follows, the POS3 sold 3,544,900 units while the Xbox 360 sold 4,735,400 units. Now maybe to you being beaten by 1.2 million units means your winning, but I think your basic reasoning skills are useless. Just know this, every time you post I give you a thumbs down as a rule, because your drivel deserves nothing less.
Oh and you got outsold in 2007 and all but 1 month so far in 2009. Yeah your ahead in sales. Thats Government accounting skills there boyo.

I really dont care if this comes to PS3 or not. I never liked splinter cell. PS3 has MGS4 anyway and splinter cell will never be as good as metal gear solid.

I like to see this. A developer who realizes the willingness of people to play games that unfortunately aren't available to a particular system for the time being. They get more money and people can enjoy a good game.

I have all 3 systems consoles, and I don't care who has exclusives I'm going to play them anyways.lol I have Uncharted 2 and ODST. But the multi platform games goes to my 360. I think bcuz im an achievement whore,

i know MS has only taken Playstations most prized franchises tekken and MGS this gen and people always seem to forget GTA which now is basically a 360 exclusive with the DLC

honestly sony had all the same opportunities that xbox had at exclusives. fans should not be mad at what comes to 360 and get mad at sony for not spending the money to bring them to ps3. rockstar offered sony exclusive rights to the gta series but they blew them off. 360 picked it up and we got two great DLC. now ps3 people are bitter but it was sony that made this mistake. would i like to play uncharted 2? yeah because of the reviews but it is not enough to make me want to buy a ps3. matter of fact there are not any games coming out in the future that make me want to buy a ps3. playstation is being out gunned by a console that has less processing power and has majority of the best game developers on board. sound familiar? ps3 = nintendo 64. the same thing that happened to nintendo then is happening to ps3 now.
