Microsoft Considering Incentive Program

Based on an email sent to some Xbox Live users, Microsoft is trying out some kind of incentive or reward program for Xbox Live users.

Here's part of the email:

"This is an exclusive pilot rewards program. That means that the people who get in get stuff. Cool stuff. You want cool stuff, right? Sure you do, we all want stuff. Especially cool stuff. Well, you've only got until October 21, 2009 to let us know you want cool stuff, because after that, the doors close and someone else gets the cool stuff."

So, basically, your guess as to what Microsoft means by "cool stuff" is as good as mine. It could be a Club-Nintendo style rewards program. It could be extra goodies for people who buy a lot of Microsoft Points. It could be a pilot version of something that will soon be Universal to Microsoft users. Maybe the first look at "tiered" Xbox Live services.  I'll be contacting Microsoft to find out whether they care to elaborate on the matter, and I'll let you know what they say when/if they reply. Until then, feel free to speculate in our comment section.

On a semi-related note: Speaking of "stuff," actually, I'm not interested in stuff. As a follower of the Eightfold Path, I know that material goods are an impediment to achieving enlightenment, even if they are "cool."

Oh yeah I filled out one of those surveys too, I just remembered. Reading through the comments I was started to get angry since I joined XBL the very day it went live on XBOX and so I'd HOPE these kinds of incentives would be for players like myself. I am pretty conservative with how many points I spend, not sure what the average amount is for players like those on this board, but I DID just drop 1360 pts for ABBEY ROAD yesterday. Completely off-topic, but COMPLETELY WORTH IT! AWESOME. Later.

Yeah, I took a survey from Microsoft a few weeks back that asked what sort of incentives I would be interested in, and what kind of stuff i would like to be added to XBL. Some of the incentive offers were things such as: Microsoft points for achievements, MS points for signing up for Xbox Live/ Being Gold member for consecutive years, One free arcade game when you buy X number of other arcade games, MS points for buying Xbox 360 versions of multiplication games, etc.

All these PS3 idiots are retarded they don't know that Microsoft spends that money on making XBL awesome, like all the DLC before the PS3 cough-Fallout 3,Ballad of Gay Tony-Modern Warfare 2 maps-. What does the PS3 get nothing. You get what you pay for. Trust me I own a PS3 and all you get is you get to own movies.

And everyone who says XBL has even though you pay. It's because SOME games run-off a host connection. So, if someones connection is horrible of course it's going to lag. I've been in my fair share of laggy PS3 games to, Yes im looking at you KILLZONE 2,

Why does it keep telling me to watch my language when nothing I type even remotely could be considered an insult at all? When it's just a simple joke, not even two full lines long, and it tells me I'm swearing. I can't even fix it because nothing is a swear and I don't know what to fix.

The e-mail takes you to a survey. I completed it but since it's the day-of, I'm not certain I'll be getting anything back.

Who doesn't want stuff. They should give us lots of free stuff for spending lots of money on their Live and Gold Accounts.
