We tend to focus on console games at G4, but yes, it's true: the PC still exists! And hopefully we'll have a better idea of how the platform's performing, as the NPD Group will be releasing monthly top 20 software sales lists for the PC. The data isn't as detailed -- for example, we have no numbers -- but it does provide a snapshot of what buying habits are for the PC. Right now? MMOs.
- Aion, NCsoft
- The Sims 3, Electronic Arts
- Champions Online, Atari
- World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, Activision Blizzard
- Aion: Collector's Edition, NCsoft
- Mumbo Jumbo Assortment, Mumbo Jumbo
- The Sims 2: Double Deluxe, Electronic Arts
- World of Warcraft: Battle Chest, Activision Blizzard
- Reel Deal Slots: Treasures of the Far East, Phantom EFX
- World of Warcraft, Activision Blizzard
- Spore, Electronic Arts
- Grand Theft Auto IV, Take-Two Interactive
- Starcraft: Battle Chest, Activision Blizzard
- Zuma's Revenge, PopCap Games
- World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, Activision Blizzard
- Batman: Arkham Asylum, Square Enix
- Reel Deal Slots Adventure, Phantom EFX
- Nancy Drew: Ransom of the Seven Ships, Her Interactive
- Civilization IV: Complete Edition, Take-Two Interactive
- The Sims 2: University Life, Electronic Arts
Impressive that every retail release of World of Warcraft is still on that list.

Where's EVE online?

More impressive that StarCraft still charts... hype for the sequel brought it back and it's not slowing down.

I quit gaming on the PC and I started doing it back in the early 80's.
The graphics on consoles are quite inferior to PC, even today, but
the hassle level goes way down. I don't have to deal with Windows and
it's endless...and I mean endless...problems. Once you get the stuff working
it easily surpasses anything the consoles can field but I prefer spending my time playing
instead of tweaking. To those that still game the PC, more power to you, you are
the guys driving the graphical and performance improvements that eventually help us all out.
If you haven't seen them yet, nVidia has a killer set of 3D glasses that actually work and look
pretty amazing. It's almost enough to get me to dip back into PC gaming.

My wife is playing Aion, another JMMO.. has some unique style and beautiful graphics but I doubt it will do much to the Blizzard Juggernaut. Champions has let me down and I just couldn't get into any of the other MMOs.. actually not really playing any MMOs right now.. a little WAR but nothing else. I will probably get into WOW again when the next add-on comes out.

Just goes to show that PC gamers need to get out and get a life.
