For those of you looking to get a head start on Dragon Age: Origins, you can download the game’s character creator this very instant! Just head over to BioWare’s blog, and click on the appropriate link. Similar to the creature creator that EA released prior to the release of Spore, you’ll be able to transfer the characters you create using the application into the full game when it’s released on November 3rd.

I just finished playing around with the character creator, and it's pretty straightforward. Gender, appearance, class, etc. are all available, and while you can’t really tweak a lot of the of the other options like background, attributes, skills and talents, you can still see all of the available choices that will be available in the full game. So if you want to start planning out your character progression, or if you just want to see what kinds of weapons, abilities, spells and such you’ll have at your disposal, it's definitely worth checking out.
