Update 1:26 PM PST: Sony has responded to our requests for comment, but as expected, the company isn't saying much. "We have made no announcements in regards to the inFamous franchise," said a Sony spokesperson.

Both Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch have shed their mascot platforming pasts in the PlayStation 3 generation. The latter's hero (or anti-hero, if you choose) adventure, inFamous, struck a chord with gamers earlier this year and Sucker Punch appears keen to move forward on inFamous 2…but apparently Sucker Punch is recasting its main character, Cole McGrath, in the process.
"First voiceover/motion capture audition today for a video game," said actor David Sullivan over Twitter this morning. "Re-casting of Cole in the sequel of Infamous. 'I'll melt your face.' e.g"
Cole was previously voiced by actor Jason Cottle. According to Cottle's IMDB profile, he is currently not working on anything else at the moment. His last project is listed as inFamous.
Sullivan is probably best known for starring in the indie time track flick Primer (which comes highly recommended if you're interested in a realistic take on the pitfalls of time travel). He asked for advice from his Twitter followers, including actress Yvette Nicole Brown, who voiced Moya in the first game. It's unclear if she's returning in inFamous 2.
"You would be AWESOME as 'Cole'!" she told Sullivan. "Go BOOK it, buddy! :)"
According to Sullivan's Twitter timeline, he should actually be at the audition right now. I've reached out to Sony regarding Sullivan's comments, but do not expect much of an answer.

I think the beast could/might be Cole.
Think, if Kessler was an alternate timeline version of Cole who was a hero but was scared to face the beast, why can't there be ANOTHER alternate timeline version of Cole named Kale who was a villain and only sought to amplify his powers to an impossible degree, causing it to screw with his mind and just make him go on an unstoppable killing spree? That would give us the 'Beast' we saw at the end of the 1st game, in a way. xDD

I think replacing Cole's voice actor isn't a good idea. Nothing seemed out of place. I think Cole voice went with greatly with him. Any other voice would just seem out of place after being so use to Cole's voice in InFamous. Also, hope John should not be the beast, that be just too predictable. It should be just how I did not see the end of inFamous coming.

i think they should make you play as a person who survives the destruction before and cole would somehow pass some of his power on to you then as you learned to weild the power you and cole could fight together

rcwide is right, johnson was with cole for not even ten missions yet he was deep into the conduit's projects. For all we know Zeke is still craving power. Zeke takes the Ray Sphere with Kessler. What happened to Zeke with Kessler?
(im not sure if this also matters or not but Kessler threw Zeke two hundred feet into a parking garage and he seemed fine when after Cole defeated Kessler.)

Zeke is jealous, because Cole has power, but Zeke, he just has a gun. He used the Raysphere to try to get power like Cole's. Zeke didnt care about any of the people. So Zeke opened it and it made the exploshion again, and then it came back into the Raysphere and he didnt go with Cole, with Kessler so that made me wonder, that John may be the enemy or Zeke.

In the InFamous 2 game, John or Zeke will be the enemy. Because when John got "burned to ashes" He mabybe got teleported. And Zeke betrayded Cole to Kessler.

and sorry rcwide980, but i think john was disintegrated... so i think he's dead. don't take my word for it, just voicing my opinion.
as for the beast, most likely alternate timeline version of Cole.

You should all remember that no matter what path you took in the game, the objective was allways to find John, even when you met Kessler.

they should make the character black and get rid of cole yeah the first infamous was sweet but the character didn't fit the story we're playing with a guy that looks like a skinhead trying to be like spider-man but for some reason the character fit the role better when the evil side was played yeah lose cole and put someeles in!!!!!!

Not sure how many people picked up on this but i'm pretty sure, Cole, is "The Beast" form a divergent timeline.

It would be good if they throw in another ray sphere victim. He/she could have other type of power like fire and would be fighting with or against Cole. That would be good story. Then throw in The Beast that caused it all. They can have tag team against "The Beast" or have a triple threat match against it.(Sorry for the WWE references =P)

just picked up infamous, uncharted 2, and arkhem(360 version) from toys'r'us using their buy two, get one free deal. i wanted demon's souls instead of infamous, but they didn't have it. it's not on their website either.

This one was pretty good and I should have borrowed it when I had the chance. Seen the gameplay and it was awesome! And I think a part 2 is a good direction, might just raise the ante a bit on it.
Never seen the full story but know structurally how it was well crafted by the developers, pretty distinctive if you tell me. I'll bet it'll be the same but with a lil twist and a more morally involved. I think it was a good way and a nice way to introduce games to the world of right or wrong. Pretty cool and I'll bet part 2 should also be fine as well.

PK makes a very good point like he does so often. Choices need a bigger impact and influence on the game. Also how about branching out and letting us play some missions from the villains point of view. Whatever direction they take the game Im sure it will be an intersting twist. Sucker Punch, inFamous 2, sold. Let me know when I can pre-order.

I guess I didn't really think of the game loading your previous file and then forming a world/game around that. While that would be awesome, how would that work for new players, your basicly forcing new players to buy and beat the original.

Yeah, I was a little disappointed how the game played very similar as an evil Cole or a good Cole. It was still worth playing both but like you said not a ton changed.
