@Ganthet Image has more than the three good books. Besides the ones you mentioned, there's Chew, Dynamo 5, Noble Causes, GIrls, Gemini...

And Blaire does review Mainstream stuff. She's already sited Secret Six, a DC book, as her favorite on going series. She also frequently mentions Daredevil, Captain America, Spider-man, Batman and Robin, Fantastic four... I'm not really sure what show your watching. If she leans on a more independent note at times, it's because most people can't immediately identify with an indie without being told by someone that it's good. Expand your horizons.

I'd like to make a suggestion similar to Ganthet's, personally I'd like to see more mainstream comic reviews, not that I have anything against companies like Image and Dark Horse, but let' s be honest here, there isn't a huge audience for them, and if others are like me, I can't even buy most of them at my comic shop. I'd like to see more Marvel/DC comics reviewed as it stands I see 1 maybe 2 comics a week on here that I would actually be likely to buy. I'm sure the less popular comics are great, but I would bet that most people that watch this podcast never buy them. If you stuck to more mainstream reviews, you'd probably get a bigger audience. Just a suggestion.

I am just wondering she reads good comics, or just a lot of comics? What about the Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corps, Outsiders, Secret Six, R.e.b.e.l.s. I agree Planetary is and was awesome. Ellis usually writes gold most of the time. But come on read and talk about quality books Blair not just everything on the self. And quit giving Marvel and Image all the love. What about DC and Dark Horse.
Image only has two or three good books right now. The Sword, Invincible, and Walking Dead there are no others. Mouse Templar, Rapture, Red Robin, Superman Secret Origins, Adventure Comics, Streets of Gotham, Batman and Robin. Are also good books. Marvel has nothing to offer me at the moment with maybe the exception of Guardians of the Galaxy, and Nova. Just my opinion is all.

I just experienced some serious Futurama- deja vu with that outtake. But yeah that aside I'm kinda interested to see what Marvel'll do with Doctor Voodoo. I agree with the lackluster first issue but well yeah I hope the second cements something stay worthy.

    Good show all!

Blair great to hear you getting back to comic book reviews, but it seemed a bit rushed and you missed out on a lot of ones, maybe next time?

Anyways, thanks, as always from one comic book fan to another! :)

Strange Tales is rocking my socks too.
Crazy not to see some of the BPRD goodness like Witchfinder and 1947...those are simply amazing.
    House of Mystery...also....solid.

dfeif, don't you think you should read the book yourself before you decide what you think about it?

I read the book and my general consensus is: potential. I think it could be something great. I personally wasn't on board with Invincible until the I read the first volume of stories in their entirety. Just one thing: Let Ottley do the covers too, please! I mean McFarlane, no offense, but ... jeez dude... Spider-Spawn much? At least Ottley puts up the poses in a much more unique fashion.

Anyway, I really doubt the hate mail will come. It's not like you totally ripped it apart and said it had no potential, so I'd like to think people would be so dumb.

Blair, I don't think you'll get too much hatemail over "Haunt;" your review is much the same as others I've read online. I'm one of the masses that also bought a copy, but haven't read mine yet, and I'm sure I will probably agree with you as well. I pre-ordered it with blind optimism, lol.

And I definitely agree about the "Image '90s." Such a dark time for storytelling in comics in general: all art over substance. Some of which is still (in my opinion) a problem today. I miss the old days of 6 panels per page (standard) and thought balloons. :)
