G4tv.com's Feedback -- Week of October 5th, 2009

After a week off, Feedback is back on TheFeed with a new crew, but the same great recipe passed down through my family for generations. We spent the last two weeks playing Halo 3: ODST, which thanks to Tokyo Game Show and other related shenanigans, we're a little late to the party on. But considering that every time we put up a story concerning ODST it gets at least 50 comments, something tells me it's still worth talking about. To quote Adam Sessler, "Halo just generates reactions." Indeed.

Also on this week's party chat:

  • Sega's "spy tactical RPG thinger" (as Patrick puts it) Alpha Protocol has been delayed until 2010. It seems everyone but Sega PR saw this coming a mile away...what's going on over there, and why is Adam getting flashbacks to high school dating?
  • You can't write a news story about Activision these days without an element of absurdity involved. This week brought us the news that the publisher was staunchly against Infinity Ward modernizing Call of Duty, preferring to take the advice of their spreadsheets that said World War II was still super hot. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to find coded messages in Modern Warfare 2's credits that say "CONDITIONS TERRIBLE, SEND HELP AND SUPPLIES."
  • Adam wants a pony for Christmas. We're in the process of setting up a donation fund, get your checkbooks ready.
  • Nintendo's new "Super Guide" feature that's being introduced in New Super Mario Bros. Wii seems like an affront to the hardcore, but is it really? The crew debates the actual merits of digital hand-holding.
  • A reader from the 11th century asks whether he should get Uncharted 2 or Brutal Legend next week. The answer? "It depends." Glad we could help make your decision.
  • Did Bungie squander the potential of New Mombasa by making the ODST's hub world boring? Some experts say "maybe," others aren't so sure.

Feedback: Making obscure musical references since 2009.

When Adam said Brute Force 2 I jumped up out of my seat. I've saying that for years

i thought the dude in the background was a poster of a jedi warrior for like half the show, and i love the fact that at least 90% of the women walking past the windows are SO HOTT! on top of that, great 42 minute show, they should all be 42 minutes! keep up the good work.

    really adam? naked?

honestly i really love the feedback.
ok halo: odst was fun but once i beat the single player it just sat there,
i really believe firefight is truely the bread and butter of the game. The only thing that bothers me is how long it takes to actually achieve the achievements ( usually 2 hours ) and not to forget the lag which can completely kick you out of a well invested firefight. that really bothered me. eventually im sure bungie will sharpen up their issues they have on lag and other things. I really liked the videogame i just dont think the 59.99 price was fair, im not cheap its just i beat the single player in 6 hours. i think 39.99 would have been more reasonable considering bungie themselves included odst as an expansion.
In the begining of the feedback i heard HARDCORE gaming on wii several times and i just have a problem hearing that.
When i think HARDCORE gaming on wii i think 100 percent completing the video game. ex. finding all the stars in mario galaxy, getting all the items and hearts in zelda, so on and so forth.
to me it seems like the general public thinks hardcore gaming is blood, guts and tons of M rated content but i think people are looking more for that than actually enjoying themselves as they play the video game.
In general nintendo games havently really been violent. if your looking for tons of shooters and gore get yourself a 360 or ps3.
Remember kids lol, nintendo has always been more about the games as far as gameplay itself, than graphics. just think about the NES and SNES days. crappy graphics compared to modern day graphics but still fun as hell.

I rent it this week end thinking it was gonna be awesome , review was good , 9/10 , 4.5/5 etc but after playing it I'm gonna give a 5/10. It got a ridiculous story , its boring and really short. It worth 20$ imo

    Are you serious

Halo is a kiddish child's game it sincerely does not endorse a customisable scheme apart from lousy gear that would tailor down to any kid

i do not hate halo just the fact that it was ripped of from the aliens jonra.

the pelican shares a resemblance to the aliens drop ship same as the uniform, tho just like the up coming game avatar another pointless driven game going the ridiculous path of the movie.

halo is not to every ones liking.

and yes halo odst is joke i finished it in 8 hours on legendary on solo it is garbage i lost interest in the game all together repetitive missions linear story to halo regardless if it's master chief or not.

i find far cry map editor more amusing then this garbage. Nintendo should make amends with it's self it has obviously lost it's way and is solely marketed to kids and parents Nintendo would need a blood bank to fuel it's so called unreliable reserves.

cod series have been absurd tho history pays to learn but not in the customers paying hand if people enjoy history so be it.

i loose to differ on companies like code masters flash point loosing direction on it's franchise who in their god forsaken mind would make 120k map only to support minimum of online players so absurd. that is topic id like discussed.

in my opinion , Uncharted 2 will be played most that Brutal legend. I mean just imagine after playing and beating the brutal legend game for lots of hours and getting the necessary trophies and achievements, whats to do next? compare it to uncharted 2, after playing the game and beating it for lots of hours, the player can go back and search for more treasure to hunt that they missed, and plus, they have a new multiplayer mode. games like this with multiplayer capability will make it more playable in the upcoming days, months or year. Like COD MW when it came out 2 years ago, it stil is very playable online. The only thing that the game needs is some more multiplayer maps to make it more playable, but that's the game where a gamer can always go back too or not. With the hype of MW 2 coming out, i think it will own a lot of gamer's hours of gameplay just playing it through the hardest difficulty and also the online mode, which is very KICK ASS!! as of ODST, i havent played the game but ive seen the gameplay vids on it. Id say its a match for MW 2 when it comes out, gameplay wise.

I am mixed on Halo. I like the game play like any other shooter. I kind of don't like how it is humans vs. annoying aliens. I like a more humans vs. humans thing like Call of Duty or Killzone 2. However, I don't hate it.

Off point, anyone else hate that people compare firefight to hoard mode saying hoard mode is something like the originator of survival mode or something. Same with cover.

Hell yea, great show and hell yea used this as a show. Put this on TV too.
Forget dumb azz Cops and Cheaters put this up.Every True Gamer would and should listen to this great like show that comments and discusses the current events in the interactive entertainment (gaming) industry.
While X-Play mainly focuses on reviews, previews and some news they do not have enough time to really discuss and comment, with a group of intelligent people, about the industry. Feedback does this and they do it well.
Feedback should make a great show on G4, but yea who want to sit and just watch a couple of intelligent people talk. Oh wait they do, they watch the News, At the Movies, Talk Shows, Larry King, Sunday morning pregame shows. yea
Keep up the great work people

I can not wait for Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend.
P.S. Why is Ratchet and Clank Furure: A Crack in Time getting so little press attention?

This is the show that should be on G4, for real videogame fans. You are already producing it on video, just put it on the network during a slow time when you are showing that craptastic Human Wrecking Balls show or reruns of old XPlays...
