When MTV Games announced that Rubber Soul, Sergeant Pepper and Abbey Road would be available as downloadable albums for The Beatles: Rock Band, I hoped that every Beatles track would eventually make it to the game. To be honest, I assumed a full catalog release was Harmonix's plan from the start. But what happens when you assume? You make an ass out of you and me.... err, in this case, I just made an ass of me; you had nothing to do with it. Anyway, The Beatles: Rock Band won't necessarily feature the entire fab four catalog. Harmonix PR rep John Drake explains:
"Every time we do one song, it's not like Rock Band where we wait for the masters to come in and just author them... its like, send people to Abbey Road, use the original tape, separate them out... it costs thousands of dollars. We're waiting to see how things sell. We're waiting to see how the albums do. If they sell well, we'll have a lot more content."
This means that everyone who has The Beatles: Rock Band is obligated to buy every album and song that comes out. This is so I can play "Dr. Robert." Start saving your money now.
What do you think? Are you excited for Beatles DLC? Or am I just a weird fanboy for an ancient music group?
