The Professor Layton series continues to be a moderate but substantial success for developer Level 5 (and Nintendo), but the studio isn't making any waves about brain teasers for Wii. Level 5 CEO Akihiro Hino addressed the possibility in an interview with the UK's Official Nintendo Magazine.
"We currently have no plans for a Wii release," said Hino.
Instead, Level 5 is wrapping up the initial Professor Layton trilogy, which concludes with Professor Layton and the Last Time Travel. It's not the end of the series, with an all-new trilogy kicking off with Professor Layton and the Flute of Malevolent Destiny in Japan. We just received the second in the series, Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box, so it'll be a while before that comes here.

I for one am an unimaginally large fan of the Layton series, the brain teasers and puzzles are amazing and the cut scenes put me in aww to watch on my DSi with the design the cut scenes have. But enough of an intro... I think that there shouldnt be a need to focus on the Wii and only focus on the DS... I couldnt imagine playing Layton on my Wii because its one of my favorite "on the go" games that I take on road trips. I dont think that anyone with a just a Wii would even buy the game because it doesnt seem like a home console sort of game therefore in my opinion it could fail. Although, if they can pull it off id love to take it into consideration not saying I would buy it but it would be a possibility. As of now, I suggest that it would be brilliant to focus just on the DS for now, I am dying for the new titles to release in America as im sure many other puzzle fans are....
