Everyone loves zombies. Well maybe not people getting eaten by zombies. But being gamers, there's nothing we enjoy more than splattering the soft, gray skull of a member of the undead with the butt of our shotgun. Such is the subject of this week's Soapbox. The Sess gets literary on your ass and explains in great detail why zombies are such an important part of American pop-culture, why they work so well in video games, and why they've evolved over the years. So before you chow down on some tasty grey matter, spend some time with this week's Sessler's Soapbox.

Adam there is something called reading too deeply into stuff and seeing things that aren't there. You should take a step back and listen to what you are saying.

I think slow hordes of zombies are the scariest. It's easy to kill them at first, then they keep coming, you run out of ammunition, then they slowly move in and devour you. NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

Also, I found it funny that I was eating brain gummies while I was reading the article. lol

Oddly enough, I've thought about where to go in the zombie apocalypse, and I'm still under the impression that a place like Walmart would be almost ideal. The main reason? There's weapons there, ammo etc. It's easy to booby trap that place, and there would be so much food there. I figure you could last for a while there.

Great Soapbox Sess. It's nice to know just a bit more about some of my favorite Zombie movies based with what's going on in the world at the time

It's nice that there's a Soapbox that isn't just Sessler defending his opinion from some of the fanboys out there. But anyway, I never really saw current zombie movies (with fast zombies) as social commentary. I thought that it was just a cool way to innovate the zombie film genre.

They better not make a Twilight zombie! Oh man would i hate to see Zombies become soft and lovable creatures. Zombies are meant to be shot in the head, or you know...find a cure for, what ever you prefer.

I just hope zombies don't get the "Twilight" effect like what happened with vampires. After Buffy and Angel, vampires just lost their street cred because of Twilight's romanticizing. Hope something like that doesn't happen with zombies.

I saw Night of the Living Dead at a really young age, and zombies (and the idea of my loved ones coming back to kill and eat me) left me pretty shaken up for years. Until the likes of Resident Evil, House of the Dead, and eventually Left 4 Dead shattered those childhood fears.

Who says videogames don't have therapeutic properties? :)

The zombie is probibley the biggest thing next to vampires that hit all year besides halloween. i think it all depends on what the creators or story tellers on how the present zombies in a situation. overall thank you Adam Sessler for two soapboxes in one week. i bet the next one is on Brutal Legend.

Remember cardio, double tap, always check the back seat, enjoy the little things, and above all, bathrooms are asking for death.

P.S. If you haven't seen Zombieland yet, what's wrong with you?!
