What's a better place to nick source material than the public domain?
Although EA hasn't commented, Shacknews reports that the publisher has filed game and film trademarks for The Ripper. That could be a vicious-sounding title for nearly any game, and it doesn't have to involve London serial killers. At least, until you factor in Ben Fritz's LA Times news story from July which briefly mentions that a "Jack the Ripper" game would likely be Visceral Games' next project.
First Dante's Inferno, now a notorious serial killer. My first thoughts are The Saboteur meets "From Hell." How would you want to see Jack the Ripper portrayed in a videogame without seeing it banned in several countries?
