Welcome to Morning Hangover -- an excellent way to start your day with the crew at TheFeed...no matter what you're recovering from. Every morning you'll hear musings from our editors and have the chance to share your thoughts on what's going on in the gaming world. So buckle up, throw a Pokeball at the new week, and keep reading!

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Uncut Singleplayer Trailer »

Patrick Klepek: The new trailer for Modern Warfare 2 is a slick piece of work. I didn't see the twist at the end coming -- which I'll refrain from discussing in the event that you're keeping yourself intentionally in the dark -- but after the high of the surprise, I felt a little let down. Imagine how cool it would have been to experience that revelation in the game? Unfortunately, in our micromedia-obsessed culture, we want something new, something different, something fresh every single day. In a world without that kind of expectation, I wonder if Infinity Ward would have showed that hand from their deck. But maybe it it's not their fault -- it's mine. I didn't have to watch it, right?

TheFeed gang wants your thoughts on gaming, tech, how far behind America is with snacks, and more. Let everyone know what you're thinking and chat it up with your fellow readers. Leave comments on anything and everything that's on your (gaming/tech/nerd) mind!

You ask me, game companies are getting terrible with trailers anymore. It's either a CG teaser that has nothing to do with the game itself, or it's a giant spoiler in an attempt to excite people. You can say you didn't have to click the trailer, but I didn't click it either. I found out the twist skimming by the featured comment. So yes, it is Activision's fault. Game companies, especially BioWare, need to stop this pattern. I saw an E3 Trailer for Mass Effect the 2nd wherein one of the developers actually says "So in one of the endings for this game..." I don't know the rest because I closed the window with great haste.

Fact is, stop putting your twists and spoilers in trailers, Developers. RE4 was great because we didn't know anything about the game past the village. It's like putting the confrontation with Andrew Ryan in a trailer for Bioshock.

So MW2 will be based on world war three/the apocalypse. Not a bad twist, I don't mind knowing that. I wonder though if it will cause a stir in political affairs. Fighting in a burned out washington and delapidated white house is bound to offend someone.

I gotta agree, I think they should have kept that part a secret. It would have been such a massive surprise, I couldn't play the game for half an hour, id be too busy screaming with shock and amazement :P

The whole trailer up until that point was amazing enough, they secret could've been kept. Oh well, I'm defintiely 100% without a doubt buying this game now!

We have known about the DC thing for quite a while i think it was around July they were showing cases off and that is when you could see DC in the background burning.

Then again IW is getting good at showing us three things and showing it so we only see two. EX: when FourZeroTwo got the throwing knife in the back most people focused on the Knife and the host quiting not ending the game. What most people did not see (for about a week) was the "BLING" perk (two attachments on one gun).

OK I've read the first 40 comments and I didn't see this so I'm gonna say it:

    THIS DIDN'T REVEAL ANYTHING NEW!!!!!!!!!!

    Spoiler Alert:
Am I the only person who knew before hand that DC was going to be attacked? It's on the freaking cover of the game!!!!! If you look at the soldier, you'll notice some big, round thing behind him that looks mildly destroyed--THE CAPITOL!!!!!!! I feel like I'm going crazy here with all this "OMFGZ teh DEE-CEE is under attakz!" talk. If you paid attention to the art released, you'd know this already!

OK I've said my piece. Good night.

Has anyone thought of the possibility that the trailer is fake? Could be.

Another idea: Activision is a whore and will put anything out at anytime no matter the risks to turn a buck.

    blashemous,

Yeah I already read it last night after I saw on R-Pad's twitter what had happened. I'm at my "real job", so there's only so much rooting around the internets I can do.

    nightshade,

here is the link of the kotaku article you mentioned. it does mention billy, but not rpad. If you read the comments you can see that rpad makes a comment

    http://kotaku.com/5374861/ga me-journalist-shake+up-shifts- personnel-at-several-outlets
as always take out any spaces!!

kinda sad, the last we see of rpad is commenting on a kotaku post.

G4 should of at least had the decency to do a goodbye post.

hey guys, my last comment was a "what if", not trying to get anyone fired, that would just be wrong.

so as a "what if" i do stand by my comment, get rid of those three, keep the others.

Article on kotaku? I am going to look for it.

Ok, I've apparently been outta the loop. What happened to Mr. Padilla? I understand the details are none of my business, but I think we would all like clarification on whether he left of his own choosing, was laid off, or fired.
And I agree in part w/ blasphemous- Keep Dana around. She's what you call 'nerd-hot'....and just to be fair, I guess Billy is too.
    Just kidding, Mr. Berghammer.

@blasphemous: They let Berghammer go too. There was an article about all of the big shake ups around the gaming press and that was mentioned.

Either way, I don't think we should be wishing ANYONE out of a job in this economic climate. The point is we'll all miss Raymond because he was probably the one who interacted with us all the most.

while thefeed certiantly(sp) has the right to hire and fire as they see fit, from a regular ole joe who frequents this site, thefeed really screwed the pooch on letting rpad go.

I mean if I was the head person in charge, I would get rid of this Sterling guy, then the andrew guy, then Patrick(sorry pat, somebody had to be number 3)

Keep Moye and Dana, sjohnson and bleahy, you could even get rid of Berghammer, just leave the others alone.

i am totally not buying cdmw2 cod5 ruined cod i might have to rent it or play it at a friends house but know it is not in my buy games list i think that i will buy mag and drakes2 so if enough ps3 players decide to do the same who knows sony might lose the cod franchise since they are about making cash dudes cod4 is still worth $50 shouldn't it be a best seller for $30

Yeah, it's unfortunate that R-Pad's gone. He asked one of my questions to the Bioware Dr's at GDC this year, and after I sent him the link to one of the stories from my website about a month back it got posted on The Feed. I absolutely wish him well and hope he finds something soon.

As for CoD:MW2, I corrolate it to Lucas Arts revealing Darth Maul and the double-bladed Lightsaber in the trailer for The Phantom Menace. Did they NEED to do that to get me to go see the movie? Absolutely not. And though I had a "Holy s!!!!" momment when I first saw it in the trailer, I should have had that experience when I saw the movie. Insert same argument about CoD:MW2's most recent trailer here.

I'm gonna miss RPad too. Like mentioned before, he was the only feed writer to ever interact with us commenters. I always looked forward to what he had to say to someone's comment. It is a damn shame that he lost his job.

Screw MW2! R Pad's gone? That's the real spoiler here. I will miss what he brought to The Feed.

Maybe he can make an new account now, and keep debating with us in the comment section.
