Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is easily one of, if not the most anticipated game of the year. So it comes as no surprise that people are very eager to get an early look at the list of Xbox 360 achievements for the game. What does come as a surprise is that all 50 of the achievements can be attained in the single player campaign or co-op Special Ops modes and there are no multiplayer match specific gamer points to work for. According to 360Sync.com, none of the achievements are secret so anyone who buys a copy of the game can scroll through all 50 achievements right off the bat, but it does seem a bit odd that they wouldn't include any gamer tag badges of honor for kicking ass in deathmatches. I still play Kz2 to this day. I'll probably get MW2 for PC. Nothing compares to running COD4 in 1080p @ 100+fps. Hopfully MW2 runs just as good!

online achievements are just a cheap way to get people to play online. cod is the best multiplayer experience and doesnt need gimics to get people to play

It's kind of annoying considering all the time one may spend on multiplayer especially going after prestige modes. But truthfully, I llok forward to brandishing my MP5 on all of your gamertags. Two to the dome of YOU UPSTARTS!!!...I can't wait.

Personally I think this is great! I imagine it will change the climate of multiplayer matches for the better. People will be more focused on team work than on selfish gain.
Ironically, there are few games that draw as many participants to multiplayer and there will be no achievement for being there, while a game like Turok, which couldn't draw flies to group play, has the majority of its achievements buried in multiplayer.

Multiplayer achievements detract from the multiplayer experience. At least thats what i think. Case and point: Halo 3. Thanks infiniti ward for not caving in and adding online chievos.

Sounds good to me. I am more of a single-player guy, anyway. (*Read: I suck at multi-player, plus I am not online-enabled at the moment*)
Besides, I really only think that multi-player achievement whores are the only ones who would really care about this sort of thing. Let's be honest; people are going to buy this game because it is going to be the most awesomely awesome game in all of awesomeland, not for some stupid achievements.

No multiplayer achievements means everyone can get the full 1000 points, or PS3 equivalent.
None of the Infinity Ward Call of Duty's have them.
