X-Play brings you an exclusive look at a new level of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories!
On tonight's X-Play, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Producer Tom Hewlett talked about Shattered Memories, the game's storyline, how it uses the flashlight and phone during gameplay and the game's ability to build psychological player profiles based on in-game decisions.
However, you should hear what he has to say yourself by watching the video below. Then hit the cut and check out exclusive, uncut gameplay footage of a never before scene level of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories!

sorry - "about" should have been "able"

Someone please explain. Is it that there won't be big guns like shotguns, or is it that you won't be about to use weapons at all to fight? The former might be ok, the latter sounds like a game I would skip.

the monsters don't seem very scary
akosiya
so all you do in this game is pick up items and run for your life?

"You have a big shotgun, you're not scared..."
Yeah, if I remember correctly, the other games had big shotguns, and I was still scared crapless.

I'm getting mixed feelings about this game.
There's thing I like and things I dislike
For one the atmosphere seems to be lacking something that made the original Silent Hill games good. The sound effects seem to lack something that makes it feel creepy, and the arrows pointing to what you can interact with and magic beam highlighting the flare takes me out of the experience. I also have doubts about being chased by only one monster, I would like to see the psyche program form more kinds of monsters. I also see that the running away can probably get extremely annoying.
My final gripe about this game is that it feels too much like they're trying to accommodate for the casual and to me Silent Hill has never been that kind of game.
The positives about this game is the story "re -imagining" looks interesting and may be grand experience since it's going to develop based on your psychological problems. The puzzles look like they could be well thought out . And seeing that Harry will be going to more places that players never went to originally just adds as plus since it'll be something new and unexpected for people like me who played the original.
Anyways aside from my mixed feelings, I do plan on buying this game and hope that it turns out to be scary. I just can't help but love Silent Hill.
