I haven't played a Monkey Ball game since the first GameCube one, where my friends and I stayed up super late and almost got someone kicked out of their apartment because of a noise complaint. True...ish story. Here's an interview we did at Tokyo Game Show with developer Toshihiro Nagoshi regarding Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll -- a game that hopefully will generate quite a few more noise complaints.

i am not buying this unless i can use a gamecube controller or the nunchuck. Am i the only person who feels like SMB 2 for the gamecube was the last good monkey ball game to be released?

I just liked the old control stick meathod. Also if Monkey Ball wanted to cater to a bigger audience they should make it a lot less 2 year old friendly.

Ya except the wiis "online" gameplay is horrendous. Theres no way you can compare the wiis online play to xbox live.

Maybe they will let people use the wii remote... we don't have any way of knowing yet. Also, the amount of games that support the balance board is woefully little. It's about time nintendo actually made a use of it that is incredibly intuitive. I think this is how monkey ball is meant to be played.

And guys seriously? NINTENDO is trying to suck money out of you? How about microsoft, who charges $50 a year for online and you have to buy a wireless adaptor or router. The wii comes included with that, and for the same price now.

Everyone knows that xbox wins on the games side... but to say that nintendo is greedy is just ridiculous.

I agree Nintendo should have just let people use the plain old wii remote, maybe even that motion plus thing. But then again they are trying to make money here...

I don't like the fact that I have to go and buy a Wii balance board to play this Monkey Ball installment. Are there by a chance alternate controls or something? I really want this game because I love all of the old Super Monkey Ball games but, I just don't want to buy a balance board.
