As you probably know by now, Adam Sessler dug the hell out of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. And in a little over a week, PlayStation 3 owners will be able to experience one of the year’s best titles for themselves, and see if all the raving reviews are indeed warranted. Now, it’s a bit early to start looking beyond Uncharted 2, given that it isn’t even out yet, but Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells recently spoke with Examiner about the future of the Uncharted series and revealed a couple noteworthy bits of info.
On the topic one what’s next for the developer, Wells said that because Naughty Dog has now become familiar with the PS3 architecture (see Uncharted 2 for just how comfortable), “There’s still a lot that can be done with it and I’m sure Uncharted 2 isn’t the last you’ll see of Nathan Drake.” Wells goes on to say that while the developer isn’t ready to discuss what its next project will be, “We will be doing another game for this generation of hardware.”
Wells also expressed enthusiasm towards the prospect of bringing the Uncharted franchise to the PlayStation Portable, but for now, the team is wholly focused on PS3 development, so if that happened, it wouldn’t be for a while. Oh well. I guess we’ll just have to settle for generation-defining console titles from Naughty Dog for the time being.
