Andrew Pfister: I'm glad I don't live in Australia. I've always wanted to visit, sure, but everything I've read about their government's collective attitude towards games, I can only believe that they'd have DVD-sniffing dogs waiting for me at the airport. When I read Jake's story yesterday about South Australian attorney general Michael Atkinson actually uttering the phrase "keeping this material from children and vulnerable adults" in reference to violent games, the toothless Jack Thompson suddenly didn't seem all that bad. Major sympathies extended to our Australian readers -- if you guys actually exist. When I eventually visit your otherwise fine country-nent, I'll try to cram a few copies of Left 4 Dead 2 in my briefcase's false bottom for ya.
(I'm also going to start referring to myself as a vulnerable adult.)
Patrick Klepek: I'm gonna be honest. It's been a long week and I don't have something random related to video games to talk about. Instead, I want to show you an amazing snack I picked up from Japan: pizza chips. Yes, pizza chips. They're more awesome than you can imagine and very soon, I intend to find out what happens when you do something completely insane: stack pizza chips on top of an actual pizza. Mind blown.

Hi and big hello from aus.
You have no idea how sad it is to live in a country that do not allow invulnerable adults to play anything they like. And what of the issue of piracy? A major film critic here sided with us and believes we should watch and be able to play anything that is legal to make.

Sony is going to make Uncharted 2 playable in some movie theaters!!! The theater has to be one that uses Sony 4k digital technology.

Hey guys, from October 11th to the 17th, Toy R Us will be having a buy 2 games get 1 game free sale. It's perfect timing because on the 13th, Uncharted 2, Fallout 3 G.O.T.Y. version, and Brutal Legend comes out and Demon's Souls comes out on the 6th. I'm paying for Uncharted 2 and Fallout 2 G.O.T.Y. version and getting Brutal Legend for free.

I'm really bummed, my YLOD PS3 just got picked up yesterday so it's gone for at least another month. No Uncharted 2 for me ..........Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!
I think there's more than a few Za flavored snacks around the US. Pizza flavored Combos are really good.

I'm an Australian reader, and yes they might have dvd sniffing dogs at the airport (we have strict customs because it's a continent with special/deadly animals). The governor general of South Australia is quite like Jack Thompson, in which he actually got into an argument with commenters on the Australian Kotaku. The problem is that it is not actually a 'mainstream' issue like housing and taxation, so it won't cause an uproar among anyone except gamers who use the internet. Personally I find it's worse when they cut content (like in GTA4) rather than outright ban games. I might get a copy of Left4Dead2 from overseas (surely they don't region code 360s, right?).
