So everyone at G4 is talking about the new Left 4 Dead DLC Crash Course. I haven't had a chance to check it out (Too busy watching Sons of Anarchy last night.), but I talked to Jeffrey Kanjanapangka, Left 4 Dead fan, and he gave his first impressions to me.
Jeff says the game is more about tactics than it is about aesthetics, so the two chapters aren't visually all that different from the rest of the game, but the play is. "Crash Course" features a less linear, more maze-like design, and that makes things more dangerous for survivors, as zombie attack points are multiplied. To compensate, extra firepower is offered to brave human survivors.
Kanjan also found some odd clipping issued where he was able to run through cars... anyone have any similar problems? What do you think of Crash Course?

The new campaign is a good filler in between the other 2 campaigns, however with it only being 1 chapter then the finale, it's to short and not really worth the $7 that MS is charging, they should have left out the new achievements and offered it as a free d/l like they did for the survival mode

Are you serious, it is sill L4D, why would the costumes change. The screen shots you are looking at ARE FROM L4D before it was updated, get it?

my friend and i think it is the stuff they cut from the original if you look at the screen shots on xblive it has all the old character costumes so i think it is the stuff that was cut

Oh.. but I do regret to tell you.. 7 Mini games .. .cheapest one is 4.99.
considering I can get PSONE games for that price makes me wonder where the savings are going to be? Certainly not with Gran Turismo.. 40 bucks for that download.

this just shows that every games in the xbox are either betas or just pure with bugs that the devs are too lazy to fix.

I think RROD is correct.. the graphics were pathetic but yet again u can't expect much from the source engine on a console but that has nothing to do with the actual headline.
I personalty think if i purchased it i would be ripped off. This was to be free. Keep buying sheep, show you are vulnerable to purchase everything.
BTW The people who made this little tiny add-on are not the original game developers... they were fired after making the game. loss of game developers and a game a developing company.
To all who agree with me join the boycott on steam. Possibly purchase another game that is being released on the same day tha's what i am doing.

Tons tons tons of bugs. The walking through things is super annoying. I especially hate on the second level where you have to walk through a shipping contianer and figure you can use it as cover...wrong! Zombies attack through the walls of the thing and hunters can pounce right through it. I have come across five or six similar areas that really mess up the game. As an xboxer I paid for the download and am usually not remiss for paying for things because it basically guarantees this kind of stuff gets fixed. I loved the first Socom but there were so many glitches that the game was ruined quick, and since it was free nobody bothered to take care of the problem. I have no doubt Valve will take care of this though. I have over 50 xbox games and just play left4dead. My favorite game in the last 5 years easy.

Free, great. More L4D fun, great. Main goal is to streamline Vs. for 30 minutes, EXCUSE! Was really expecting a FULL 5-map campaign, but I guess that's left to the mod community (and thankfully some great ones exist). But damn Valve, they didn't even get it fully polished! There's a couple typos in the achievement text, seems the intro dialog is missing sound files, WTF! But hey, it is a cool micro-campaign as the 2 maps are pretty long taking about the same amount of time with bots as would on one of the main campaigns. So it's cool. This time. lol

as for the new DLC it was good to add to the games bc it add back a major plot point that was cut from game but it has some bad parts like the fact Bill had no new scripted lines and uses his standard lines form the game

We've truly gone beyond the time where games solely depend on graphics. Left 4 Dead's visuals aren't particularly amazing, but the design on the overall package is so polished and refined that it doesn't matter. As for Crash Course, it's fun, a little short maybe, but I'm not sure if it's worth 7 bucks. Oh wait, I forgot! I have a PC! Steam For The Win!
