The first episode of Fable II: Game Episodes is available today on Xbox Live... for free. It's a kind of unique way of selling last year's game: Break it up into chapters, and give people the option of buying them, one at a time, after giving away chapter one.
Episode one is available right now, and should give players a more-than ample taste of the game world -- it represents one-fifth of the complete game, making it much bigger than a demo, but for the same price: Free. If you're tastes are anything like mine, Lionhead making this offer is like a pusher giving you a taste of elephant tranquilizer: Sure, it's free now, but he knows you'll be back.
Players who purchase Fable II either digitally or on disc after first game episode will find their saved progress, character profile, and items from the first episode will be transferred seamlessly as they continue the game. All editions of the game offer cooperative play with friends on the same couch as well as on Live.
If I hadn't already played through Fable II, I'd be pretty psyched. This is the perfect structure to sell something that's unique. Anyone out there going to give Fable 2 a go?

I dont know what people are complaining about, this is an excellent idea. Just last night I was playing this and a friend said he was interested in playing it. This is a great way to give people a taste for a game to see if they like it or not. Some demos dont come off well (Bioshock IMO) and once you play the actual game, it's so much better.

buying sections of a video game is dumb... rent it. borrow it. steal it. but don't buy it in installments, thats never a good idea in buying anything; you will end up overpaying for it. just saying

@360_Mafia_Godfather:: yea because having multiple discs is soo next gen, right? lmao

@ pantycricket
I don't think too many people care if a game is on more than 1 disc seeing how ODST has sold over 2 million copies in a single week.

Hey, we cant sell the game, lets just give it away for free!! Come on ProjektX13, Wait till Doom 4 comes out on 3 discs for the 360, according to ID thereselves, that sounds like a crapy 360 disc storage thing to me. Oh, just in case you were wondering, it will be on 1 disc for the PS3. And what about a racing game that is Forza 3, 2 discs??!! Are you kidding me, who wants to change discs out in a race game?? Not me!!

Fable, IMO, doesn't live up to the hype. I mean when the game came out the creator (sorry can't remember his name or how to spell it for that matter) he was saying that this game is going to break the mold, allow you to do anything, etc. and I was excited, I wanted to play very badly. Then I see my friend play and was like this is it. I don't want to come off as a guy who never gave it a chance, I did and hated it. Sorry Fable fans, but it doesn't deliver where it counts.

I see RRODisback is still bitter over Fable 2 getting GOTY.

Nah, I'll just stick to playing it (and all games) the way it was meant to be played: on disc.
