What would you do if you were one of the heads of Blizzard? You'd already be partially in charge of what must surely be the most profitable video game in human history in World of Warcraft. You'd essentially be at the top of a hierarchy that included hundreds of employees, and, literally millions of consumers. For Paul Sams, Chief Operating Officer of Blizzard, there was only one choice: Buy the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Sams, a "key leader, spokesperson, operational expert and decision-maker for the company, in addition to providing corporate strategy for all Blizzard Entertainment properties," is one of four new majority stockholders in the Steelers organization. He joins notable figures like the Chairman/CEO Legendary Pictures (Thomas Tull) and Pittsburgh Steeler legend John Stallworth on the ownership panel.
Let's hope the Steelers don't suffer any more embarrassing losses like that upset the Bears handed them last week, otherwise, Sams might take it out on the Druid class and nerf them (again.)
