Sony Drops More Hints About Non-Gaming PSP ApplicationsThis week is a big one for Sony since its highly anticipated PSP Go will finally be hitting store shelves on Thursday (October 1st). A few of us here at G4 had some hands-on time with the new portable device last week, and everyone came away mighty impressed. But what’s a cool piece of technology without anything to do on it? Well, Sony has made sure that this won’t be a problem come launch day, as IGN recently found out.

Sony says that it plans to have 225 downloadable games, which consists of full PSP games, PSN exclusives, UMD games and Minis, Sony's new iPhone app-ish games division. On the non-gaming side, there will also be 2,300 movies and 13,300 episodes of television shows, and more. All in all, there’s expected to be around 16,000 pieces of content available on day one. Not too shabby at all for the latest digital darling.

How many of you are picking up a PSP Go? What’s the first piece of content you’re going to download?
