What We Know: Gran Turismo 5 has been in development for what seems like an eternity, and eons after its demo version - Gran Turismo 5: Prologue – was released, it seems like Polyphony Digital is finally getting the game together for a March 2010 release in North America, Japan, and Europe.
What’s New At TGS: The new build of Gran Turismo 5 showed off a new course – Tokyo R249 – a track that’s actually built in the same neighborhood as Sony Computer Entertainment Japan. While the physics model seems to have been updated since we played the game at GamesCom, the promised damage modeling doesn’t seem much improved. The gameplay is still solid, and actually, while I usually think racing games are more difficult to play with a wheel, I loved it even more with the wheel when I got my hands on it at Polyphony Digital. Granted, it also helped to play with the wheel inside a slick racing rig, as well.

However, the big news is that we finally have game details. Gran Turismo 5 will feature 900 cars, 20 locations, 70 variations of tracks, a new physics model, and promised damage that will affect not only the physical appearance of the cars and affect performance, but for race cars, parts will see physical damage, and also get completely torn off the vehicle. Lose a fender or door, and it will lay in the track – damaging other cars that run into it. It’s about time Polyphony!
Gran Turismo 5 will also support many of the modes seen in Prologue including arcade and online modes, a beefed up Gran Turismo TV, as well as the ability to export recorded video to both YouTube and your PSP. Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi says that there will be even more features in the game revealed later, including PlayStation Eye camera support. Sweet!
What We Want To See: The game finally come out! There were rumors that Gran Turismo 5 might make it out before the end of the year, but sadly that won’t be the case as Polyphony confirmed that the game will make it out in March 2010. Better late than never, right?

when will all the xbox and PS3 fanboys shut up??? they are now begining to ruin the racing genre for us normal gamers!
Why can't you people just play the the game the way it was supposed to be played!!!! I have been playing forza and grand turismo for years and never complained because they are both two great racing franchises. but it grows to concern me how stupid everyone is becoming on the war between PS3 and Xbox 360. some of you are coming on this page badmouthing both systems and you dont eve own them, or you come on the page talking about things that dont relate to the topic!!!!
Forza 3 is on their third game and i can see that Grand turismo is trying to stay ahead this season, but adding nascar to their game? i really dont think that would work...
Forza 3, cheers to you for creating a sequal that unleashes even better physics and graphics than forza 2

I think GT5 is going to be amazing, but Q1 2010 is a TERRIBLE time to release it. Early 2010 looks so packed I can't even remember all the AAA titles people will be forced to buy. If anything they should delay it a bit (hey they delayed it this much already, why not some more?) to SUMMER 2010, when NO ONE has anything new to play!

Translation: "This unreleased game I've never played is better than that other unreleased game I've never played! I'm never going to play that other game because it's not on my system, but as an ignorant fanboy it is my duty to flame it anyway!"
"How can you possibly like that system that I've never played before? The only system I like is the only one I've ever played!"
It's funny, because both sides would perk up at the mere mention of Forza coming to PS3, or Gran Turismo coming to 360. You guys would be like: "in ur face [insert console name you've never tried before here] fanbois! we get [insert racing title] AND [insert other racing title].
My real point is, is that you are stupid to be arguing over two unreleased games. And they're RACING games for chrissake.

Well isn't that how y'all 360 fanboy's compare Multi-Platform games? Exactly.
Also its suppose to prove that the sales were that way because of the release dates of the systems/games, Just like the release date between the 360 and PS3 and how the year gap is a key point in the 360 sales over the PS3, which is something 360 fanboy's have always denied.
Basically the sales convo. was made to prove that point stated above. Also you just proved my point, by saying quote"gt4 was on the ps2, meaning the platform for that game was around for 5 years when gt4 released. The install base in the US alone was over 40,000,000. You are comparing that to Forza 2 on the 360 in its second full year of production, install bae in the US, what 10,000,000 or so."
So when ever you bash ps3 on sales I can say that for justification. Of course I'll have to tweak the install base numbers with the ones the 360 when the Ps3 came out ;-)

I saw that story. But the Sony fanboys will never believe it b/c A. they think the PS3 can run anything. FALSE! If so why do games like Ghostbusters run with no problem on 360 but the PS3 needed several patches to try and be on the same level as the 360. Bayonetta BTW is also having issues on the PS3 as we all saw last week. And B. Gamepro is a credible news source for video games. PS3 fanboys only like their news from people who are just as brainwashed by Sony as they are.
