Reggie is a smooth talker; he never actually answered a single question.

I believe next year when Microsoft and Sony release their motion controllers and developers start to support motion control games on 360/PS3 rather than Wii, Nintendo will feel more driven to do alot better. By the looks of it, next years E3 could be Nintendo's best E3 in years with Metroid Other M,Galaxy 2,new Zelda,Pikmin and Retro's new project and hopefully more great stuff. Next year will probably be Wii's ultimate turning point

So the Wii's install base buys 6.5 games.. obviously that's an average of 6-7 games rounded, but one of those is definitely considered to be wii sports. So now we're talking 5-6 games on average. Now one thing I know about averages is that often times they're driven up by the extremes.. people that own 15-20 games are going to drive that rate up. 56 million units is still impressive, and shows why nintendo is still profitable, but most of that 56 mil is casual gamers, i'd guess somewhere between 50% to 70%. These are people who own the wii, bought a controller and thus wii sports.. and then what, maybe 2-3 other games like wii fit, super mario galaxy, and mario kart.. the dependable games. That's Wii's biggest marketing flaw.. they're aiming for the 'lets convert non-gamers into gamers' mentality.. those people don't get excited about games. Look at sales of Madden '10.. 360 and ps3 both have significantly less consoles sold, but their sales from these games are both higher than Wii's 'Madden '10 flag football derby' or however they change it up so people lower their expectations from the other consoles' graphics and fun-factor.

Mature Games and their failure to catch on for the Wii clearly shows the gap between Wii and next-gen consoles. Game developers have a hard time creating a unique experience on a console where graphics are secondary and the primary focus is on a motion controller. You can see it in Reggie's eyes when the topic of mature games comes up, he knows that's a category his company fails to capitalize on. I imagine if Sess threw a worm-on-hook question about comparing install bases he would've easily found a few more minutes to chat. Gamers are growing up, we need consoles that grow with us... Wii's biggest success has been utilizing motion controls, and it won't be long before Sony and Microsoft put out products that implement motion controls and high-definition graphics.

Again I don't want to try and short change Nintendo and the success of the Wii. I just wonder about the life-cycle of a console with so little direction and potentially short-lived innovation. When all consoles are motion controlled, what is left for the Wii.. the family-friendly image? Good luck with that..

I LOVE Reggie! hes a really good business man and i like hearing his interviews. I love Nintendo and even though people are bitching, i still think the Wii has High Replay Value than the other 2 consoles 10 years from now. But i believe Nintendo has something big hiding in their sleeves so ill be watching.

    WOW!

Adam had a bunch of awesome points, and all the ones that were negative, Reggie totally and obviously dodged the question by bragging about their "install base"

oh yeah, Reggie? Well your install base doesn't buy any games, and you cant count on these 2 rail shooters to bring you millions

if it didnt work with madworld and no more heroes, then it wont work for 2 rail shooters.

im not saying they're gonna be lame games, but they're simply not going to sell.

    Reggie = FAIL

    GIVE US Wii 2!!

3rd party developers like to play games and there is nothing fun about sitting down with your arms pointed toward the tv with a motion controller for more than 5 minutes.

It sound to me like Reggie is avoiding the questions rather than answering them directly in my opinion

That was a good interview but I still feel like Reggie is not doing the best for Nintendo

Very nice interview Adam, but to me this interview was just a rehashing of your last interview with Reggie. Probably just because he has to answer a certain way.

One thing that I think Reggie might be wrong on is that their is no current plans for a Wii+, that part is probably false would love to hear your thoughts on that Adam.

3rd parties really need to give a poop about creating a wii game instead of just making a quick cash game.

Oh wells I hope all the game companies do well that way we the game players get to have some more fun :)

this guy is horrible. why do you people like him?

Because it has worse hard ware than an iphone and still is only 50 less than a 360 elite (with rebate) even with the price cut? I guess I'll just have to watch and find out. The suspense is killing me.
