In the interview below, Beland gets in-depth about the challenges inherent in taking a well-known franchise like Splinter Cell and keeping it fresh, while simultaneously pleasing fans of the older games in the series.
"We really looked at the core values of the brand and decided: Are we keeping them or are we changing them?" Beland said. While much of the series' core gameplay was kept, Beland said: "I wanted to change things up in regards to how we tell the story... As an industry, we have to do seamless everything.
