At the recent PAX 2009 convention, we caught up with Team Ninja producer Yosuke Hayashi to get the inside scoop on Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.
"[Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2] is the most complete Ninja Gaiden game and gameplay experience," Hayashi told us, "Even if you If you follow Ninja Gaiden, this will feel most like the most complete. If you're a newcomer, you'll be able to see bits and pieces of the previous installments in the series. It takes in so many elements of what we've done in last several years. It will hopefully become the Ninja Gaiden of the last couple years brought together by Team ninja. So in that sense, it's not necessarily an ending. As far as the future of the series goes, we have incorporated a hint as to where the future might be headed at the ending of Sigma 2."
Tell me, Xbox owners: Are you jealous that you won't be able to play this PS3-exclusive game?

They should have called the 360 version 'Ninja Gaiden 2 BETA', then we would have known to hold off until the "complete" one arrived. I love the game but I already bought it, I dont wanna buy it again just for some extra's.

I'm an Xbox 360 owner. I'm not jealous. The trailer looks the same in Ninja Gaiden 2 but some extra mission levels and more playable characters for PS3, that's all.

don't really care what people say. I don't care about the cut back in blood and gore. this game only needs skills.
(oh yeah the boob feature is also nice....)

I suppose if it provides enough content worth re-release, that's great. But I think people are jumping the gun, when saying it's going to be superior to the Xbox 360 version. I do admit that is definitely a possibility, but I think it's best to wait and see before we start making claims on which version is superior. We don't even know yet if the new extra content is worth it and or plays correctly. Basically it all comes down to the new content. If PS3 owners get a little extra something and Xbox owners don't, that's fine. I'm happy that PS3 owners get to finally play Ninja Gaiden 2, but I think it would be foolish to boast it's superiority just on the basis that it provides new content. I think the the game it self is just worth purchasing and the extra content is just a bonus to an already great game.

I understand that developers have to please ps3 owners by adding more content to the original to compensate for the fact that it took longer to develop, but I can't help but feel like they should release DLC packs for people who already bought ninja guiden 2 on the xbox. I mean shouldn't they please all their consumers?
In the end I guess that's the price of getting a game earlier

Sigma was the first game I bought for PS3. And I have played it until my thumb bled. In less than two weeks my thumb will bleed again. Oh, yes, it will bleed again!

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 will have better graphics, more levels, more bosses, and most important, co-op. I'd be very jealous if I couldn't play this game.

Yeah I'm Jealous but most of all I feel Jipped. If this was the potential of Ninja Gaiden then why couldn't they have released this stuff earilier. or at least they could have made some of this stuff as dlc. all there is for the xbox version is costumes and a mission pack. Looking at Sigma 2 makes me feel like I've been playing a stripped version of the game.

Well I would have bought ninja gaiden 2 for my 360. But they always do these kind of things.
There are a lot of games that come out on XBOX then 8 months to a year later come to the PS3 with more stuff packed into it. I guess its because development costs/time, but I can understand 360 owners getting mad. I actually might pick up Sigma because of the extra features depends on if i like a demo or not.

Ooh I can't wait for this! I loved the last game, and if they say this is better then it's all good! :D
