Last week, I told you about those limited edition Xbox 360s inspired by The Beatles: Rock Band that were being auctioned off on eBay, the proceeds of which are going to help Doctors Without Borders. Well, after 111 bids, the first console has found a home for a whopping $17,300!
That’s just a staggering amount of money to spend on a video game console. Then again it’s for charity, so no harm I guess...But $17,300 for a 360?! That's just wacky.

Well, if they are paying $17,300 for charity, then they are probably millionaires anyway. Who cares, it's like throwing down a $20 bill for them.

Well i guess one rich xbox owner can be charitible by spending the dough, or all PS3 owners can be charitible at NO EXTRA COST by using the Life with Playstation program that donates the PS3's processing power to run algorithms to help cure diseases.

you have to realize the guy who bought this probably bought it as a collectors item and will never turn it on, and as PRD said its gonna be worth alot if he keeps it in mint condition.

Any idea who bought it? And yeah it would be incredibly sad if the first time it turns on it RRoD. I don't wish that one any one... especially the person that paid 17k for it. Though I doubt that it's going to get hooked up. It's probably going on a book case somewhere.

Sony cant even come close to the way MS markets and gives to charity. Nah just kidding, o you guys remember the article of the 5 or 7 little kids that had leukemia and were hooked up to a Ps3 each? crazy.

Awesome for charity, and even more awesome if you absolutely have to have everything with The Beatles name on it. And on top of that, even more awesome if you are a HUGE fan of The Beatles: Rock Band. Best Beatles: Rock Band collectors item out there. However it's probably the worst Beatles Collectors item out there.
