Welcome to "Morning Hangover" -- an excellent way to start your day with the crew at TheFeed...no matter what you're recovering from. Every morning you'll hear musings from two of TheFeed's editors and have the chance to share your thoughts on what's going on in the gaming world. So buckle up, break the Internets, and keep reading!

Raymond Padilla: Yesterday, I wrote about Uncharted 2's use of Twitter. I'm a bit torn on the matter. I love games (duh!) and I'm an avid Twitter user...however, I don't want these worlds colliding -- not yet anyway. Uncharted 2's use of Twitter seems clever from a marketing standpoint, but as a user, I don't find it appealing. I don't want to know that one friend earned a trophy or another cleared a level. I'm sure someone will come up with a slick way to implement Twitter into a game, but I'm not sure what that entails. Anyone have any cool ideas on how Twitter can make traditional console gaming more fun?

Patrick Klepek: I'm in big trouble. I just tried looking at the area surrounding our hotel for Tokyo Game Show and quickly realized getting around Japan is going to be way more confusing than getting around during my last international trip in Germany. What are all these symbols!? They scare my curly hair. Are there any iPhone apps I can download to make getting around a little easier? Any websites I should print out ahead of time? I'll only be able to access the Internet when I'm near a Wi-Fi spot, though. I haven't done any real traveling since acquiring an iPhone, so I might as well try and make use of it!

I'm a fan of twitter, but I don't need to update people on my gaming status. Twitter gets a bad rap because of stuff like that; It's meaningless info. I don't care if you are eating a sandwich. I don't even care if P Diddy is eating a sandwich. That is a majority of what is on twitter, but it can be used for other means. If people are abusing the system, you simply don't follow them.

I have a small group of people I follow, most of which are comedians. I myself am an amateur comic, so I use Twitter to broadcast my jokes out into the world of the internet. I don't care how many people follow me, and you'll find most of your followers are bots anyway. My goal is to just archive some of my material and hopefully make a few people laugh. That's all I want from Twitter and that's all I look for from it.

I think Twitter is just lame, but that's not my point. My fear is that this will take away from the game's experience: bear with me. Nathan just jumped over a ledge and disarmed an assailant. Instead of proceeding, some will just do this

OMG! I juzt cr0ss3d uh lege an dizarmed un 3nemy tee hee!!

It's as infuriating being in a theater watching an epic part of the film and seeing a light glare of a BlackBerry user texting in the distance. PLEASE. People need to put some stuff down and really appreciate media. I'm not saying all Twitter/Facebook/Text message users are rude or ignorant but it's getting to a point where the ridiculous tide is washing in.

I am F'N mad as hell. So I finally got my PS3 back after it blew up 5 weeks ago, Uncharted was stuck inside and guess what ? They didn't send it back with my PS3, I had to pay $89 bucks for the fix and now they want $20 bucks to send me a copy of the game back in 1 to 2 weeks. Since my HDD was wiped out during the incident I pretty much have to go through every game again. I just went and got a used copy of Drakes to brush up before the new one comes out.....bam ! I get a yellow F'N light 10 minutes in. Sony wants money to fix this now and there is no way I'll get it back in time for Drakes 2. I am pissssssed !

    @Raymond

the only reason I have a twitter account is because game devs have started a horrible trend of releasing game news via twitter.

Haha that is awesome. I had no idea, but I just looked it up and I am already getting my vocabulary together.

    Avast
    Ahoy
    Shiver me timbers
    Scurvy Dogs
    Arrgh

I may yell all day today so my voice can be gravely tomorrow.

I don't have a twitter account, so the world can rest easy knowing I won't be flooding tweets about my progress in Uncharted 2.

It's like back when I was a kid and my little brother would call me into the room to show me that he got to a level that I've already beaten in some game - or to show me he'd beaten a boss that I couldn't win against. Only now anyone can be just as annoying over the internet.

If anything, I can imagine Twitter being useful in MMOGs. Guild/Clan leaders could send tweets about raid groups they're forming. Developers can tweet any time they're sending their avatars into the game or when they're about to release updates. The game itself can tweet players whenever a rare mob shows up in a certain area or an in game event is starting. The thing is, a lot of this functionality is being done through administrative messages in the game. But I guess if could be useful for anyone who want to be updated while he's not playing.

I signed up for Twitter and followed Morgan, Adam, Kevin and Olivia. And i got some followers, but it is a stupid concept. I haven't ever logged in again after setting it up. I used TwitterBerry and it was dumb too. Maybe I am just not cool enough for it. Hell one of my friends signed me up on MySpace or I would have never done that either. I am just not an online social person (expect here I guess).

I have a twitter account but I rarely use it anymore. I have never Tweeted an update. I look at it like this, No one cares what I am doing today so I don't see the need to share it to the world, now someone with a fan base might enjoy that such as you, Raymond.

I don't get it, first there was myspace, which sucked, then there facebook, which allowed status updates, photos, friends and wall all on one site.

Why do I suddenly now have to go on a different site to update my status, add photos and keep in touch with friends? I think i'll just stick to facebook, call me out of touch.

Also I think this is a terrible idea, not only do I not want to tweet I especially don't want to tweet and let the world know how much time Uncharted 2 is going to take away from my social life

I remember people saying pretty much the same thing when the Internet became popular. "Why would I want to send an electronic letter when I can just write one and put it in the mailbox?"

Hahaha I like yesterday morning hangover that was funny in a way. Morning Hangover got me crack up on some of the comments made by R-pad and us users. I try twitter and I don t like it. Maybe I haven t been able to navigate to what I want to see or post about. I guess it will change in time like any other website. You might hate it for now but you will learn to love it later on in life? This whole year Microsoft hasn t yet to come out with a decent game why is that? No new ips of any thing? All the good games seem to be going toward the Ps3 now. Does this mean that the developers are finally getting the hang of things? Sony doesn t seem to be stopping any time soon with all these great games coming out. I personally like heavenly sword even though it was too short. I hope that they make a sequel to it. All they got to do is make the game longer. What do you guys think should they make Heavenly Sword 2?

Ray - I am completely with you. I don't mind talking about gaming with friends, but I really don't need their down to the minute trophy/online status/I just picked up this clip of ammo updates. I really don't know if there is a better way to integrate them, because honestly, I just don't really want to know that stuff. Unless of course I have made some sort of wager regarding a trophy/achievement/milestone, and then of course I want the physical proof of my suckage so I know when to pay up.

Patrick - You are in one of the few places in the world where you can legally buy Fugu (Pufferfish) and have the chance of dying be surprisingly small. If you feel like experimenting, do not eat the liver, kidney or ovaries, and make sure that they have their license where you can see it (though with all the funny symbols you mentioned, the license may look an awful lot like their menu, and you could be ordering his professor for dinner!). Other then that, hit a kareoke parlor and get up and sing... or don't... but make sure Ray does! :P

Am I the only dork in the world that hates Twitter? I don't see the appeal in knowing when someone went grocery shopping or what they had for lunch, let alone when they beat a level in a game. It's just stupid. I hate Twitter and I hate the mass media for being all over its nuts. Like I saw on a T-shirt, "I don't need 140 characters to say 'F you!"
