Millions of gamers are looking forward to Naughty Dog's Uncharted 2 for PlayStation 3. I've no doubt that this title will make a big splash in the gaming world, but did you know that it's set to make waves in the Twitterverse too? According to TBBPS, Uncharted 2 will have Twitter integration. Gamers can notify their friends about their online status, trophies, level milestones, multiplayer money, and more.
It's a interesting twist that can be an effective way to market the game after it launches. It's also a little scary. Most of my Twitter friends are gamers and many of them are Uncharted fans. I absolutely don't want to know when any of them have earned a new trophy. Hmmmm, I might have to temporarily de-friend a few people from my Twitter account when the game is released.
What do you think of Uncharted 2's Twitter integration? Cool? Innovative? Pointless? Stupid? Meh? Leave a comment and let me know (please)!

Wow this is pretty weak. Hey RROD your so called game of the year has twitter integration? pathetic.

I think it would be nifty to put out a Tweet when you killed someone on your friends list. Along with the ability to customize the phrase that appears, twould be funny.

I will use it, good job Sony, now all you have to do is figure out that all the players really want is Party / Cross game chat so the WE can CHOOSE who we WANT to talk to...

Personally, I don't like/use Twitter. I don't see what the point of it is. But if this helps sell more copies of the game, then so be it. I'm looking forward to the game and I wish NaughtyDog all the success in the world.

Nice concept but I dont have a Twitter account so it doesn't affect me one bit.

I remember when no one had ever heard of Twitter, not it's all over the place. This is nuts.

I have my twitter account connected with my FB account. Now if I happen to purchase this game and a PS3 then I'll have to disable that connectivity due to massive updates that I'd have with having all of those options turned on!

Does that mean every social fad will become a part of gaming? I guess if its free noone cares.

could be cool

I personally think twitter is stupid.
But its an extra feature no other game has....its just an extra point to boast about and rub into the competitions face....HA!!
shinrasboy
I think Twitter is just lame, but that's not my point. My fear is that this will take away from the game's experience: bear with me. Nathan just jumped over a ledge and disarmed an assailant. Instead of proceeding, some will just do this
OMG! I juzt cr0ss3d uh lege an dizarmed un 3nemy tee hee!!
It's as infuriating being in a theater watching an epic part of the film and seeing a light glare of a BlackBerry user texting in the distance. PLEASE. People need to put some stuff down and really appreciate media. I'm not saying all Twitter/Facebook/Text message users are rude or ignorant but it's getting to a point where the ridiculous tide is washing in.

I, for one, don't like the idea of spamming my follower with my achievements in the game.
Remember TweetCraft? If this is what the concept is like, I'll pass, folks.

.......... the stupid thing naughty dog has done since not selling the hunter edition
shagdaddey
when is this twiitter fad going to stop?! !
NortheastMonk
Great idea, but useless if you just want it for the single player campaign.

by controllers i meant consoles sorry for the typo
stJonnie
I dont think social networking updates on controllers are not a very good idea i mean sure viewing it and looking at things are pretty cool but most gamers and social lives outside of video games and dont want to send updates every time they do something in a game showing their life wasted into video games im not saying its embarrassing or you should hide the fact that your a gamer just that some people dont really want to show what they spend their time on like spending a year to get an achievement like the seriously acheivement

man, twitter has become too popular, WAY too fast. I remember like 6 months ago, i had no clue what twitter was. Now its crazy big. I don't see the point of it, it's just like status updates on FB, but without anything else. This is just going to be dumb, and make people look like the idiots on FB who post the results of every stupid quiz they take
