Fallout 3: Game Of The Year Edition, PS3 DLC Details

Just a quick heads up for fans of, and potential fans, of Bethesda Softwork’s brilliant Fallout 3. Bethesda has released an update for the PlayStation 3 version of the game that takes care of some optimization issues, as well as adds trophy support for the upcoming downloadable content that will start being released later this month.

The release dates for the five DLC is as follows:

  • September 24th - “Broken Steel”
  • October 1st – “Operation Anchorage” and “The Pitt”
  • October 8th – “Point Lookout” and “Mothership Zeta”

Bethesda will also be releasing Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition on October 13th, which include the retail game as well as all five DLC packs, all for a cool $59.99 ($49.99 for the PC version).  That’s a whole lot of gaming per dollar right there, so if you haven’t gotten around to playing this post-apocalyptic masterpiece yet, now is the time.

I heard this game was awesome, but when I found out the game of the year edition had all 5 DLC for an extra $10 at gamestop, I pre-ordered it. Can't wait till the 13th.

I curse Bethesda for making PS3 owners out to be second class citizens with their (expletive deleted) delay. I've been playing this since May, just got the platinum trophy on Tuesday, and now have to wait for dlc that owners of an inferior system and PCs have had for months. It's about flippin' time.

I'm sort of cheep, but I want the fallout 3 DLC's. I bought 1600 MS points, but don't want to buy the DLC yet. I think I'm gunna trade in Fallout 3 and buy the GOTY edition for $60. I think I'll save money that way. (Maybe 20 for the trade in. and u get $50 worth of content too)

I think I will phone my local gaming stores about the current trade in value of Fallout 3, Amazon UK is taking preorders for the GOTY edition at 30. It will work out way cheaper to get this pack than for me to download all 5 DLCs or buy the DLC packs on disc.

Wow, a little behind with this news, its been on Amazon and other sites a while, but it's perfect timing. I didn't try Fallout until about a month ago, and now I'm pretty sure I want it, and with all the DLC to go with it.

i hope they fix the glitches, on my ps3 version everyones faces were gone you could only see there eyes, teeth, and the hair on the back of there heads, some time the screen would turn black and it just froze for no reason, i sold my ps3 copy, if the ps3 GOTY edition has been fix i might pick it up

Seeing as I sold my 360, and all the FO3 content I had downloaded for it, and got a PS3, I will be buying this. And get Operation Anchorage and The Pitt to finally play, since I didn't play them originally.

Ok, dude. I beat it in like 4 hours. It was the same boring hallways filled with the same 3 enemies and a fairly lame predictable story, the ending was the only stand out part and that was basicly button pressing. It took way to many shots to take any alien down, seriosuly a double barreled shotgun to the head in vats at pointblank barely did anything. Point Lookout and Broken Steel are easily the best and even The Pitt and Op. Anchorage were leagues better than Zeta. It had to good weapons that didn't hardly hurt the aliens and aren't anything great compared to the alien blaster, the Mirv, Eugene and half the weapons from Broken Steel. The only good armor was the samurai armor which was weak and still not as cool as any power armor. And from what others have rated our comments I would tend to think that people agree with me and not you. Zeta sucks, if you plan on buying the dlc and not the GOTY I would suggest passing on Zeta.

I've played the heck out of the PS3 Fallout(despite the the badly ported glitches) and i sold it and moved on., but i guess this is my chance to go back into the wasteland (although it will probably be Borderlands version) I'll see how i feel when the GoTY version comes out

This is great news, but why did it take so long just to release all this DLC when it's been out months and months ago on micro$ofts Xbox360?

I rent the game and sped through the main story and loved it. By then DLC was already out, but why buy them while I was renting. So I waited and now glad about this package. But will the game of the year edition be one disc or a game and the DLC? I'll will need a an elite for all that content.

Cannot wait for this version. Between NHL, Uncharted 2, Ratchet & Clank and Fallout, I expect my girlfriend to dump me within two months.
