Welcome to "Morning Hangover" -- an excellent way to start your day with the crew at TheFeed...no matter what you're recovering from. Every morning you'll hear musings from two of TheFeed's editors and have the chance to share your thoughts on what's going on in the gaming world. So buckle up, break the Internets, and keep reading!
Patrick Klepek: At
Tokyo Game Show, it's widely believed that Sony will be releasing concrete details about its motion controller that was announced at
E3 2009. A number of developers have expressed interest in it, especially because it might allow them to create games for the Wii and PlayStation 3 simultaneously (or at least open the door to proper ports).
What do you want to see from Sony's controller? Are you already tired of the motion control revolution? Scratch that. It doesn't even matter if you're tired of it because it isn't going anyway. Motion control is just getting started. It's only going to get bigger from here.

Raymond Padilla: Yesterday, I wrote about
Microsoft's upcoming 802.11n adapter for Xbox 360. Considering that the original 802.11b/g adapter carries a ridiculous price of $100, I wondered how much the new model would cost. (I'm guessing it'll probably be $100, while the older model's price is slashed...but that's not really the point. The point is...) First-party console-accessories often have huge markups to help make up for the money lost on consoles themselves. While it's easy to hide these markups in controllers or memory cards, it's harder to do it with things like wireless adapters and hard drives -- parts that have PC equivalents. There are a lot of educated customers out there that know it's ridiculous to charge $100 for a wireless adapter or $150 for a 120GB hard drive. Microsoft gets away with it by wrapping inexpensive PC parts in proprietary enclosures. It's a little evil and a little silly, but as long as people keep buying these horribly overpriced accessories, Microsoft will keep serving them up.
How do you feel about these expensive Xbox 360 peripherals? Have you bought either the hard drive or the wireless adapter? Knowing that the price is inflated, why did you "play ball" and encourage the practice?

holy crap a fruit pie!?
on the other note, i dont even use the wifi at my house for things i game on, pc/xbox/ps3/wii because direct connection is just better so i dont need the wifi thing.
but at 100 bucks i would probably never! buy it, id just get a huge ethernet cable and run it the length of my house if i had to.

i honestly think natal will be a lot like home
cool to use maybe for a minute, but VERY limited and after a few months, people are gonna wonder what the hell to use it for
i mean natal is supposed to be a 1 player deal, and i dont understand how there arent going to be a TON of technical difficulties while using no controller
i actually love the face and voice recognition possibilities with natal, but how long are you really gonna want and sit and wave your hands around like a bad magician before you are ready to just get a controller back in your hands
i think sony actually has the upper hand in the motion sensing dept, because its taking what the wii is doing and is going to incorporate just as much precision with 1080p graphical capabilities. That being said, i wont use it much if at all
theres just something about holding a controller, there arent any surprises, your game wont screw up if you have to scratch your nose or if someone walks in front of the tv

Were there a lot of people asking Microsoft for a wireless N adapter? Maybe I wasn't looking through the right forums, but it looks like they're trying to fix a problem that no one was complaining about.

I did buy the hard drive, but I refused to pay full price for it. I waited for a sale, and used a gift card to get it. What bugged me is that so many people paid full price for it that Microsoft was able to keep it at its price point for so long. For the price of a 120 Gig Hard Drive for the 360, I can get a 1.5TB drive for my PC. Haven't developers been saying the 360 is like a PC on the inside? Why can't that be reflected on the outside?
There are just some things I wish people wouldn't buy into so quickly. I don't want these high priced peripherals to set a precedence for future releases.

@Ray
Thanks for putting the ending "blurb" back up there. Glad the Hangover is back to normal.

The one trend that I hate about Namco is that they rerelease previously exclusive xbox games with a bunch of extra crap in hopes that it distracts people from their terrible game.

oops srry for the double up

@R-pad
I have not bought the Wifi adapter because I never needed one, as for a new hard drive, I guess I would buy it if I actually needed one.
@Colonel Klepek
I can't wait to play Cooking Mama on my xbox /sarcasm.

It's not playing ball, more like playing craps in an overpriced casino knowing when you walk through the door the odds are greatly stacked against you from the moment you buy your console. (run on sentence)

I really really how that all that Wii shovelware doesn't make it over to the PS3 or the 360. I hope all the new version of motion control are better than the Wii.
I hate Microsoft for overcharging for add-ons, but I broke down and bought the WiFi adapter a year or so ago. But that is it, I refuse to buy the hard drives. My 20Gb is full but oh well. I hack it before I buy from MS

My PS3 version of Fallout 3 had an update last night that added all of the Trophies for the new DLC. I am actually getting back into Fallout 3 so I am excited for the new DLC.
Scottydsntknow
The 360's peripherals are way overpriced and are rip offs, the wi-fi adapter is built in one the ps3, wii, ds, and psp so why can't the 360 have wi-fi built in?
SlickyFats
Anyone going to play the MAG Beta today?
