There will be another Resident Evil, but Capcom still hasn't decided who should head up the next installment. At Comic-Con, Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi revealed several producers were playing blackjack to determine who was saddled with the responsibility of the next Resident Evil. At GamesCom, however, Takeuchi told Billy Berghammer that's not working.
"There are three candidates and we've been playing blackjack for a long time in order to pick the role of producer for the next one," he said, "but we haven’t decided yet. So, we have to switch to something else – poker or something. Blackjack was not working."
Since the release of Resident Evil 5, Takeuchi has expressed exhaustion over the game's development and a desire to let someone else take the helm.
"It’s [Resident Evil] a great project to work on," he said, "but it’s really, really hard."

man u kno what would be the dopest resident evil would prolly be where they put all the resident evil franchise characters from leon to clare from chrise to jill from the stars members of resident evil to the mercanaries of our today resident evil games and ada to krouser just some ideas and mabey think about it taking place thru tha hole resident evil games like from the streets of racoon city to the dark woods of the spencer estate to the biggest facility ive seen the hive but then again this sounds like a RPG game not a gamee where u have to survive and maker it to the end of the game to find a big boss who u need to kill im a big Resident evil fan from Resident evil Zero to 5 And outbreak 12 To dead aim and code veronica and all im saying is i cant wait to see what capcom has in mind for the new Resident evil game sure it gonns be a big hit

How about NO! Enough of these stupid games. How about a run button or a quick gun and run? These need to evolve.
And so should the story. How about an ending? HOw about a true reason to play and beat the game...not get some stupid "to be continued" ending chit thats been used over and over. Lets see an end

This is bad when no one want to be the producer from the goodness of one's heart I only expect the quality to take a ride down under. Maybe that means they should take a break from It to do something else

i hope they stay away from levels like the one in the fifth game where both players have to pull handles to raise stairs,,,, it felt like a really bad plat-former stage pls stick with horror/shooting

Was he serious about the blackjack? Because I wouldn't be surprised if that's how they came up with the terrible ideas for Resident Evil 5 ideas. That game was a couple hairs short of being complete garbage. Lame story, wasn't fun as an action game and NOT scary. I've played this one since the original, and this game has seriously lost it's way down the road. I don't know how they though that making this property an 'action' title was a good idea, although I've always had a sneaking suspicion that those god awful pieces of crap RE movies actually influenced the game itself.
Sounds to me like all three of them should quit playing blackjack and find someone that won't screw the game up the next time. I still regret buying it. I sure am glad I got far enough in the game soon enough to realize that it was going nowhere and turned it in for a fat trade in value.

Why would the play blackjack to find out? That's a game that's played against the dealer, not other players. Maybe last man standing?

They should decide who directs the next Resident Evil game by having all three of them play through RE5 and the winner is decided by something like fastest time, most money, I don't know...something...
Reason for this is that, in the process, they would find out what worked and didn't work in the game and resolve by way of their personal strife [*cough* Shiva *cough*] what to fix in the next.

1.bring in someone who knows how to make a scary survival horror video game (hire away some of the creative minds who made dead space possibly)
2. axe the 2 player aspect, or if you do decide on co-cop made waaay better AI and make it so that the players are separated most of the time and only availabe via radio contact, things would be far more interesting that way
3.get a respectable horror movie director onboard as a creative consultant
4. make a deeper script that expands upon these characters not some drivel that makes them typical video game archtypes (RE5 should have been all about sheva her backstory , upbringing and everything not just having her as an excuse to shield you from the attacks of racism claims)
5. dont lose the feel of the game by switching to a bunch of sterile stages and only having the scary parts in the first few chapers of the game

Co-op was fun, but the RE franchise needs to go back to its horror roots.
