Activision has announced that Microsoft will be offering a Modern Warfare 2 themed Xbox 360. It will come with two wireless controllers, a 250GB hard drive, and the game. The system will cost $399.99 and is available for pre-order.
Anyone going to pick up one of these bad boys?

Everyone is raging about modern warfare because of pc gamers won't have dedicated servers, they're having a HUGE petition going on, http://www.overclock.net/video -game-news/593142-current-mode rn-warfare-2-will-not.html check it out and G4 please do a episode about this feedback on attack of the show,it'd be interesting to see what people think.

Grave_Zero: its odd that you just joined and commenting on fanboys isnt it? Anyways could you name a couple. I do realize that there are some fanboys that are complaining for all forms of reasons. Although is it really fair to complain about them when there are xbox fanboys complaining whenever there is something about a sony consol? Just a thought.

I think this is a really cool bundle. It doesn't sound like a good deal at first but it really is. A 250 GB hard drive is always a good start. Not to mention a free game. But then, with the inclusion of a second controller, I think that seals the deal on this being a sweet deal. I mean it doesn't seem like much of an addition but if you think that one of the main appeals of the game that is included is it's multi-player component the second controller just makes sense. I just wish that they would included maybe either three or six months of XBOX Live Gold so you could take full advantage of the multi-player component.

Even if I didn't have a 360, I would refuse to buy this. Simply because I am very tired of these kind of marketing schemes and exclusivity to one system. Now a while back fourzerotwo made a comment about a MW2 controller being worked on and asked for some advice from the public (I believe he asked about what style triggers were best), and as long as it would be released for both systems I would be willing to buy that.
On another thought, why not include the Hardened edition of the game with the console? I understand that the PE would be too large, and drive the cost of the bundle up to the point where it may not be worth doing, but the HE isn't much more (around 20 I believe) and just makes more sense to give the gamer the better product, especially since they are buying a custom xbox.
Last thought: Does anyone else think that the paint job isn't that great? To me it just looks kind of plain, and even a little ugly. They could have really done a nicer job, either with color (I get the idea of the colors they did use, but doing something like the 2 in the yellow/gold wouldn't ruin anything and might help it look a little better)

Hey! This is perfect for me! I am definitely buying one, in fact I should probably pre-order it if it's limited so i don't have to "hunt" for one. I was already planning on buying Modern Warfare 2, my sister wants my elite with the 120 GB HD, and I need that larger hard drive (primarily I blame Rock Band, I have a lot of content). What a great idea and the price isn't bad. LOL I sound like a commercial, but serious.
....on another note this is a very sly move on MS' part for the holiday. Very smart! The PS3 and Wii coming down in price poses some danger, but lets look at the basics of holiday buying this year. Limited budget for most people, hardware is a confusing purchase for people due to all the "extras" they are not sure if they need, and even my personal vote for most wanted title this year is L4D2...I am not naive enough to realized that MW2 is going to be THE title for 4th quarter. Heck it's even assumed that is one of the key reasons many titles were pushed to next year to ensure there is no "crowding out." What this does is it has EVERYTHING in the box (including 2 damned controllers! since when?! Did my NES have 2 controllers in the box? might have), a huge hard drive, and the game everyone is going to buy anyway. THe price is not bad at all. (Do the math...$300 for Elite plus $60 for MW2, that leaves $40 that buys you another wireless controller and a 109% larger hard drive. You cannot beat that unless you go used and that's only a maybe.) Add that to the fact that MS secured the first 2 sets of DLC as exclusive, it's a great gift item and takes a lot of the thought and research work away from consumers.
I think this is an awesome retaliation to the PS3's price drop. (I wonder what Sessler thinks about this). I'm not anti-PS3, when I say "awesome" I mean very well played. Don't give me the "but the PS3 is a Blu-Ray player too!" argument...Blu-Ray isn't well positioned on it's own and has no value to consumers unless they have upgraded to HDTVs and sound which in this economy hasn't necessarily happened to most. If holiday shoppers want quality gaming at a good price, ensuring their giftee gets exactly what's hot, this is going to be it. Pretty cool.
...and boy will my sister be happy with a 120GB hard drive hand me down! lol

Well, Microsoft announced this morning on xbox live OXM about this console that the 250gb HDD will NOT EVER be released separately. So the HDD is worth well over $200 (probably 250) and the controllers = $120 plus headset = $20 the game limited edition = $80. so all in all, the console is basically free.
