The Wii continues to sell at a faster clip than both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but even Nintendo's seeing declining numbers of Wii sales, compared to years past. At Penny Arcade Expo, X-Play's Adam Sessler spoke with Nintendo of America president Reggie Fis-Aime about the state of the Wii and other topics, including the buying patterns Nintendo's noticing for consumers buying a DSi.
"We're seeing consumers where this could very well be their first DS product, but what we are seeing is maybe a consumer who maybe bought a DS fat -- a launch DS -- or maybe had a DS Lite, they're upgrading it to the DSi now and they're giving away their DS Lite to a friend, a family member, going to a local retailer, reselling it to get trade-in value. We're seeing all of that right now."
