Electronic Arts pulled development staff off the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Grand Slam Tennis (the Wii version was released this summer) to push out an expansion for EA Sports Active. The delay will result in a major new feature: motion controls. EA Sports chief Peter Moore told VG247 the delay will let EA implement both Microsoft and Sony's solutions into the game.
The release date for Grand Slam Tennis stills remains an open question.
Sony has only pegged next "spring" as the date for its motion controllers, while Microsoft has kept mum on Project Natal. It's widely assumed Project Natal will be released before the end of 2010, but technically, Microsoft hasn't said when "controllerless gaming" is coming. EA will apparently be waiting until both technologies are out the door.

I really hope this and a number of other titles are announced for Sony's motion controller at the Tokyo Game Show, because now is the time for them to start building a buzz if the want the hardware to be a success upon launch.
