Just a quick update Beatlemaniacs. On Tuesday, I told you about Harmonix auctioning off custom made Xbox 360s inspired by The Beatles: Rock Band on eBay. At the time, the bid was a hefty $780. Today, the first of the 50 limited edition 360s is going for a whopping $7,400!
I’d say that paying that much for a video game console is just outrageous, but since that the proceeds are going to help Doctors Without Borders, I’m all for it. There’s still a week left in the auction, so be sure to check back in a few days to see what kind of scratch this baby generates.
Anyone here feel like chipping in and entering a bid of $7,501? I have a dollar.

It is for charity - what you are actually getting from spending this money isnt what is important or valued, its an afterthought. (I'd hope...)

i agree BONERJAM, you could buy so much more with 7,500 g's you could buy a nice 51 sony lcd hdtv and a new 360 elite, ps3 slim, and all the hottest games that come out in the last quarter of 2009 and first half of 2010 like:

Alan Wake(Wnat this game so f-ing bad)
Halo III: ODST
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II
Assassin's Creed II
Mass Effect II
Uncharted II: Among Thieves

Gran Turimso V (not sure when this come's out)

You cannot write it all of every time. There are % rules you have to follow as well as having to take an itemized deduction instead of standard which means you would be getting less back from the government even if you did pay $7400 for it. If you have a family that is. If you are a single person maybe but either way it does not work as you stated/made it sound like.

Good cause but it's not a Beatles themed 360, it's a Beatles: Rockband themed 360. Why couldn't it just say "The Beatles"? That would have been much better.

Doctors Without Borders is a great organization that provides much needed healthcare and medical assistance to people who wouldn't normally be able to afford/access it in very remote and dangerous places of the world.
If the proceeds are for the organization, then I hope the bidding goes up to $100,000.

I think I would rather buy a big HDTV for that amount. It is cool but not worth nearly that yet again it was for charity.
