Last week I posted a video of Kurt Cobain's avatar rocking out in Guitar Hero 5. It's pretty disturbing to fans to see the troubled lead singer of Nirvana busting out Flava Flav rhymes or singing Stevie Wonder tunes. But it's apparently not just fans who are upset. Cobain's widow, Courtney Love, isn't happy either.
"For the record this Guitar Hero sh*t is breach of contract on a Bullys part and there will be a proper addressing of this and retraction," Love posted on her Twitter feed.
She also tweeted:
WE are going to sue the sh*t out of ACtivision we being the Trust the Estate the LLC the various LLCs Cobain Enterprises.
And:
i vomited when i saw the avatar got ill cried
And:
FOR THE RECORD I DID NOT APPROVE KURTS AVATAR FOR GUYITARHERO5. i think Kurt would despise this game alone let alone this avatar.
So there you have it: Love is very angry, so angry, it seems that her Twitter feed is full of disjointed and confusing rants.
What do you think of the Cobain avatar? Is it all in good fun or a blight on the legacy of a talented artist? What would Kurt think?

I like playing Guitar Hero and Rock Band, but I know Kurt would never agree to participate with a music video game in any way. I was (and still am) a huge Nirvana fan - listened to all the music, read all the biographies. This kind of thing goes against everything Kurt stood for.
Oh, and Courtney Love is a crazy b1tch. Crazy enough to pursue this lawsuit and probably win.

I'm not the biggest Nirvana fan, but I do like a lot of their stuff. To me it does cross a line, but then Courtney is an idiot so I'm confused. I don't know who to side with.

Look there Miss C.L. "hole", this message is to you ! You have no idea just what your husband would or would not want any more ! All people change in time, for all you know he would have been singing with the darn Fall Out boys, or some other dumb band, You just don't know, People change in time, but we will never know just what your husband would has become because he was so selfish that he took the cowardly way out of life. Guitar hero is overrated. It's fun but it just seems like if you're going to pay �100+ you might as well get a real guitar.

Ya know, I don't see why its such a big fuss. Most people who have songs or even an avatar in Guitar Hero and Rock Band, are honored to be part of something that is introducting so many different people to the music, and making people want to actually play a real instrument. Pretty sure if Cobain was still around this wouldnt be an issue, not a single person would care.
Also didn't hear this when Jimi Hendrix was in one.....

Of course Kurt Cobain would hate it, that's part of the reason he shot himself because he was getting to popular, and if he hadn't done it then, I'm sure as hell he would have done it now. Not like it matters, because Nirvana was beyond terrible.
