Sorry for the confusing headline, but TheFeed readers might not know Wideload Studios. The company was just purchased by Disney. Wideload Studios, created by Bungie co-founder Alex Seropian (he left after Halo was finished), has only produced two major in recent years, the underrated Stubbs the Zombie and the largely ignored political satire mini-game Hail To the Chimp.
In addition to bringing Wideload Studios under the Disney umbrella, Seropian will take on the role of VP of creative for Disney's gaming initiatives and oversee not only the projects that Wideload specifically works on, but all of Disney's gaming projects.
Wideload has been quiet since the Hail to the Chimp was released in June of last year. The acquisition press release says the studio is currently focused on "an unannounced original family console game scheduled for release in 2010" and in the future, Disney is tasking Wideload with creating "original properties for casual, downloadable and mobile games."
So, no more Stubbs the Zombie? D'oh.

I played the demo of Hail to the Chimp and it was just awful. If he wanted his political satire piece to go unnoticed then Mission Accomplished.
