“Batman: Arkham Asylum downloadable content” is a phrase that pleases me quite a bit. But “FREE Arkham Asylum DLC” warms my heart in a special way. So you can understand my excitement upon hearing that Eidos apparently plans to release free DLC for its acclaimed superhero stealth-brawler on September 17.
As Joystiq reports, the news appeared on Arkham Asylum’s news ticker on the game’s menu screen. Eidos hasn’t revealed any other info about the DLC other than its release date (I'm working on finding out more), so I’m going to turn this over to you guys to see what you think/hope the DLC will be.

I can't wait for the new DLC. I bought the new PS3 right after I got the collector's edition of Arkham Asylum. I've got all the trophies and beat all the challenges and difficulties. It would be nice to play as Robin or Mr. Freeze, but I don't think we will. There is no reference anywhere to Robin, and I couldn't even pick up freeze's skeletal structure in detective mode after I left Harley crying in her holding cell. That may be because of his body temperature though. I personally think that there will be an Arkham Asylum 2 with Bane coming back out of the water at the end and sells going so great. We may even see the characters we only found evidence of before like the Penguin and Catwoman. I'm sure everyone loved looking for Edward Nigma's riddles and hearing the Joker on the intercoms. Titan powered Joker is awesome. Scorpionkiller out.

I also hope a new batman game come out like an open field of play, a sandbox, encouraging players to set their own goals like GTA but batman sweet. End of batman aa you would know what i mean.

I'm hoping for more Boss Battles and stories since Mr. Freeze, Cat Woman, Clay Face, The Penguin, The Ventriloquist, Tweedledum and Tweedledee were all some how referenced in the game so I look for them to be Bosses or something story wise in some DLC.
I'd kill to see some Solomon Grundy, Red Hood, Firefly, Black Mask action personally. Or some stuff with Alfred PennyWorth in a storyline based cameo.. whats Batman without Alfred?

It would be a cool idea for a multi-player mode maybe 10 to 12 people 1 batman and the rest be bad guys that would be alright by me..

Whatever it is, I trust it will rock. Eidos has totally impressed me with this game. Its a damn masterpiece. I read a review that called it this years Bioshock and its true. Thank you Eidos!

I have a great feeling the DLC released for this game is going to be various different challenge maps, although it wouldn't surprise me if we see some more story driven DLC as well. But the fact that it is going to be free, and so soon after the game releases? Perhaps they were saving an extra 2 or 3 hours worth of story missions or something to see how well the game did on release? None the less, I think we all can rejoice with the "FREE" portion of it, especially considering a lot would of payed for it due to the popularity of the game.

I think that their should be new batman costumes. Maybe a classic old school batman or a redefined batsuit with like armor pieces. They could also let you use the suit from the dark knight, that would be sweet :)

Im down for any free DLC.
I really appreciate game companies that can support a game after its release and reward its customers like this.
I am forever a faithful criterion games customer because they did a full year of major free, as well as pay, updates to Burnout Paradise.
If Rocksteady Studios and Eidos can do something similar with Batman, they will likely be able to pull cash out of me for some pay DLC as well.
Im kind of hoping that they give me a chance to defeat the Riddler after I complete his challenges or something.
