Sony is handing out codes to enter into the MAG beta at PAX 2009 and Sony even held a massive fan gathering to celebrate the beta's launch, which Sterling McGarvey managed to attend. Sterling wasn't much a fan of SOCOM, but he's interested in seeing what happens with MAG, especially now that it's becoming a reality.
"As M.A.G. designer Ben Jones gave me a tour of the ongoing public beta, I couldn't help but to feel a sense of loss. Loss for the traditions of SOCOM, which, once M.A.G. drops early next year, is pretty much dead and buried. Instead, Zipper has thrown itself into an experience that's a little bit SOCOM, a little Modern Warfare, and undeniably influenced by MMO culture. It's an ambitious experiment, and I'm curious to see how Zipper pulls it off, even if SOCOM never fully resonated with me."

I'll play, damn right i'll play, anything to draw people away from their precious COD. Not saying that they are not good games, just commenting on how dedicated COD players can't really... say... hang in other worlds (K2, R2, 1943, Warhawk, etc, etc). Remember people... DIVERSITY!
I just can't take a guy as a gamer if he's still only a level 2 on the PSN cause the only gams he has is COD:MW, COD:WAW, and COD:MW2... know what i mean?

If I remember correctly, they have dedicated servers, which allow the 246 player games to work. Kinda like unreal, though the servers are much much larger.

For me M.A.G. stands for Modern Warfare Advance Gaming.The reason I say that is because we are soliders in a virutal world.And the reason there 256 players because they want it to feel like a war.I love the ideal that I can choose a team and have an affect on the outcome of the game.In other fighting games all we are doing is following the story that developers made.And this is not a Halo or even a MW2 killer.Just because its a FPS doesnt mean u can compare them to other FPS.I hate when people do that only thing M.A.G. can be compared to is Socom.So if u have an Xbox be happy with Halo and MW2.And if u have a PS3 be happy with M.A.G.,MW2,KZ2,and R2.All this flame crap got to stop its just a video game.And yes I agree that Morgan Webb is a PS3 hater but I respect her opinion.

It seems there are alot of ps3 fanboys getting a little po'ed that another ps3 exclusive doesn't seem to be shaping up as a halo and 360 killer.

This video is old. When I first saw it I thought it looked bad because of the whole impossible to kill anyone thing, but since some of you insist that it is because of some god mode infinite health thing then I think zipper should show us some gameplay without that activated, that was my only problem with the game and if that's not actually a problem then I really want this game... and a PS3

looks good but ya they need to work on peoples health if it takes more than a single bullet to the head then it shouldnt i dont want another halo where it takes like two clips to kill a guy

You've gotta good point the channel really does and they have no credibility in terms of labelin what game is the best. Why? Because the tards labeled Fallout 3 the best RPG over Fable 2 yet they label Fable 2 GOTY?!?!? Idiots, man they're idiots, where's the love for MGS4? that was by far the best game this year but it's been shafted in like every award ceremony, it gets almost all the awards but when it comes to best game they get screwed over. Back on topic, yes xbots are stupid, they're usually just little kids but ther are xbox users out there who are pretty damn smart and overall good people. I see why you hate the xbox community as a whole though, I hate them too but like I said that's just as a whole, there's still good people.
As for this game, I'm kind of disappointed, I want to see some of this vehicle crap they were show boating but then again there is some stuff that looks plain sick. I don't really care too much about graphics, they'll do fine, I mean I still getta kick out of MGS1 so it's no big deal.

this game looks to disappoint. with crappy psn matchmaking, stupidly huge maps and bullets that don't kill anyone i don't see how this can be fun. giant maps aren't in quality games like cod and halo and killzone because the developers know that they make it too complicated, and slogging for half an hour to get to action is stupid. the battlefield games make big maps work by making the rounds nice and short but short rounds with 200+ people will just pee everyone off because no-one will have found anybody to shoot before the round ends

Just got back from PAX and I'm tired. Too tired to watch the vid. I did play the demo for a few minutes today and got a few kills. It never took more than a few shots to kill an enemy, at least for me today.
