Imagine I'm saying the following in a growly, almost unlistenable voice:  it's time for this week's episode of Feedback! Head Chef Billy Berghammer auditions three new pastry chefs in Jake Gaskill, Brian Leahy, and Adam Sessler -- who then proceed to gab about the following:

  • Disney buys Marvel! Holy crap!
  • Take 2 has some big plans for 2010...Holy Crap!
  • The new PlayStation firmware is here! The new PlayStation firmware is here! And there's a lot to not like about it...
  • How big of a role does personal politics play into our consumption of media?
  • Billy doesn't like Batman: Arkham Asylum! HOLY CRAP!

Stay tuned next week for a double blast of Feedback, starting with our live show from PAX hitting early in the week, and followed by our regularly scheduled show. Cheers!

Advent Rising was an awesome game. I was so disappointed they didn't make the sequels.

The constant bashing by Billy Berghammer got a little too over the top. The download update took me about 5 minutes to download and then about 2 minutes to install. Then he complains about the little things like the font. Really Billy? Then he talks about the news ticker. Really Billy? And the the icing on the cake he says, "...I'll be on my 360 until that crap downloads, great." That's about as fanboy as you can get. Really Billy? I bet it would kill you to say one advantage the XMB has over the dashboard. The rest of the Feedback sounded great, but Billy kind of stained it. It would be nice to see someone else nitpick the Xbox 360 faults and see his reaction.

I loved Batman: AA a lot. I beat it two weeks ago and am still playing the challenge modes. I'm 97% with everything so far. I agree that the detective mode can be overused. I think there should have been an "extreme" difficulty where you can't use it. Although I think there are parts where it's required like when blowing through walls and whatnot.

wow, lets bash a far superior piece of tech that caters to hardcore gamers/tech savvy people who appreciate not having to purchase an xbox 360 every other year. ooooh, I know, lets not talk about the fact that microsoft makes crappy hardware that causes my anxiety to peak when I get a RROD and no warranty. Oh, and I do prefer the XMB over the NXE just simply because I don't like a lot of crap in my face when I want to play a game.

However, I do agree with the comments regarding cross communication during gaming. That is the real benefit that I saw before my 5th Xbox 360 crashed. Oh well, I guess I'll have to deal with built-in wi-fi, web browsing, PSP connectivity, bluetooth, DLC that I actually care about and ability to copy my CDs if I had any. (evil smiles and grins)

Batman......uh, finished it in no time. Got bored half-way through. Could be my ADD, idunno. I guess I am spoiled by other games and gameplay. I didn't enjoy the detective mode because it got over used. I do believe that too much of anything is bad and tends to ruin gameplay for me. I gravitate more toward storyline more that tools of the trade in games. This is a gamble when trying to combine an action game with the elements of an RPG. Give me more reasons to justify not reading books, and a reason to interact or not interact with reality, please. Thank you very much Bethesda, Valve, and Harmonix for spoiling me. Oh, and Sony...Do I get my soul back when I'm too old to hold a controller and my PS3 finally crashes?

With all that being said, Adam, I always enjoy your point of view. Keep it up. I don't get g4tv anymore, but I can always depend on the web as long as there's wi-fi.

Batman was a great game, it definitely deserves a 5 out of 5. I thought the riddles and detective parts were actually the best parts. It made you fell like you were batman, and that's exactly what I was looking for in this game. I do agree that there were not enough villains and defeating them with the batarang did get repetitive.

Loved Wolverine and I love Batman, so I know they're 2 sides of the same coin but detective vision, feral senses loved all the fighting in Wolverine and love all the exploring in Batman, It's really difficult for me to fault the games much because in the end I had a really good time with them.
Batman has much better graphics though but Wolverine was just unstoppable.
I hope this trend of GOOD licensed games continues...that all I can ask!!

I'd like to download a strictly audio version of this as a podcast. The video not only makes everything slightly awkward, it, I am assuming, makes the contributors less comfortable. That and I have very little bandwidth to fritter per month.

I hope Shadow Complex sells well. I hope even more that it comes to PC, or even PS3. I REALLY wanna play that game.

I love the Feedback great show. I was wondering why video game companies always feel the need to latch on multiplayer especially in FPS's for example The bioshock 2 looks great by itself but yet 2K thinks that what the game needs is to latch on multiplayer its ridiculous no one bought Bioshock 1 for its great multiplayer they bought it for its superb story and setting maybe they should concentrate more on the narrative and other aspects instead of a multiplayer that is not needed. thanks guys keep up the good work on feedback and X-play peace

    Normally, I love you, Sess.

    But

I'm convinced you simply don't know how to navigate the XMB. It's way better than the NXE and 3.0 made it even better. As others have stated, you've only complained about the aesthetics and not FEATURES. There are a few things that I prefer pre-3.0, but I'm sure you know by now that they can still change it...you do, don't you? You know that your petty complaints can easily be addressed in the next update while they work on real features to use.

I own both consoles (the Wii is just a toy, not a console) and I much prefer navigating the PS3 because everything...well...makes sense. The PS3 can do more than any console ever could and the 3.0 update added even more. Why did aesthetics get as much attention as it did compared to what improved under the hood? We all complained about the NXE aesthetics, but that's all the NXE was...

Much better panel this week! Adam is always good but dominates the conversation (in a good way). He is essentially a one-man show. Unlike last time, everyone this week had a good grasp of the subject matter.

I agree with them that the PS3 3.0 update is basically a POS. But I love the cross-media-bar layout in general. It is much simpler to navigate than the 360 interface. When Adam said "on 360 you are drawn to the things that are more important/significant", I wish one of the panel members would have questioned him on how that was so! I don't see it. It would be great to have someone on a panel with Adam that would sometimes disagree with and question him. I know he is a big-shot at G4 now, so people probably want to be nice to him...

I also think Batman:AA is way overrated. I was glad to finally hear someone not gushing all over it. Thank you, Billy! I find it slow paced and way too easy. I can't understand why everybody loves the combat as I think it is simplistic and takes very little skill. Yes, the atmosphere is good. But if you aren't in love with Batman that only takes you so far.

    @ G4!!!!!

YOU REALLY NEED TO FIX THIS! A little while ago I typed a word with the profane word for 'butt' in the middle of it, and the site wouldn't let me post my comment. And just now the site wouldn't let me post because I had the words 'is' and 'hit' next to each other!

We've been a bit short on the rain here in Seattle lately but the weather has cooled down a bit so you guys may enjoy that. Have fun at PAX (I'm not a very social person, so I won't be attending).
