This year a fantastic documentary about MMO gamers called Second Skin was released in theaters, on Hulu for a short period of time, and now on DVD. This beautifully crafted movie follows the lives of a few select MMOers to find out what is so compelling about living another life through a computer screen and what that means for their interaction with the rest of the world. I highly recomend picking it up.
A few weeks back, Casey got the oppertunity to sit down with Victor Piniero, writer and producer of Second Skin, to talk about his experience making the movie. Not only will this interview give you a new appreciation for the film, but it will also give you a small window into the world of documentary film making. I don't mind the occasional special show, but I agree this is too many recently.
Also about Second Skin, I wonder if it just focuses exclusively on WoW players? It implied that, as all the gamers we saw clips of were playing WoW. There are other MMO's out there and should of spoken to a wide range of players.

I'm not gonna bitch about this one. (even though I agree that the 4th special in a row is getting a little lame. I bet they do it to see how upset they can make us. They'll probably stop when the first fanboy starts crying and breaks his computer) I think the movie will be neat and at least it's more related to all MMO gamers and not a specific group like the washed up grandpas still playing UO. Also, the Beatles' jokes at the end were funny.
