Sad news to report as you head into the weekend. Adam Goldstein, better known to the music and videogame world as DJ AM, was found dead in his New York City apartment this afternoon. The 36 year old DJ is best known for his club appearances around Los Angeles and Las Vegas, as well as working with some of the biggest names in the music industry. Goldstein was also tapped to work on Activision's forthcoming game, DJ Hero.
Prior to E3 this year, it was announced DJ AM would create an original mix for the game and would also appear in game as a playable DJ. Since its after hours, there is no word from Activision about how this could possibly affect Goldstein's appearance in DJ Hero.
DJ AM, along with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, survived a plane crash barely a year ago in September 08, escaping the disaster with serious burns. The duo recently performed at Coachella as TRV$DJAM.
