Comic-book writer Brian Michael Bendis (Ultimate Spider-Man) recently checked out Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and had a lot to say about it. He wrote about MUA2 and an unannounced game on his Twitter page:
"Happy to give a huge thumbs up foe ultimate alliance 2. The stills do it no justice. It's gorgeuos. Fusion is fun as f**k.
Cap, I predict, will be the most popular character in the game. Shield throwing is the s**t!!
The other game I played is a long ways away and not announced yet but stars a character I am very fond of."
It's cool to see that one of the most popular comic-book scribes is down with MUA2. As a superhero nerd, I can't wait for the game. I'm also curious to find out more about the unannounced title Bendis saw. I've been bugging Marvel for years to make a Quasar game, but none of them listen to me. Also, I'm a pretty big Bendis mark (and his USM style has caused me to overuse parenthesis).
What do you think of Bendis' comments on MUA2? Any guesses as to the "secret" game he played?

I think Marvel should do a whole series of sandbox games where the damage, HP and graphics mesh. Make each one about a different hero/villain with it's own controls and non-generic stuff but make it so multiplayer you can play with any of the other games in the series.
So a fully fledged Spider-Man game could do multiplayer with say, Iron Man, Captain America and Hulk. Each game would add it's unique locations to the available maps for multiplayer.

I want a Marvel sandbox game, you people think too small. Hell, even a well done side scroller would be cool. Anyone else remember X-Men 2: The Clone Wars on Sega Genesis? Awesome game! I'd LOVE an update of that.

Granted I have no proof of this, but at comic-con wwhen I pre-ordered MUA2, there was a questionaire about what X-Men characters people would like to see in a new game. That leads me to think that X-Men Legends 3 might be next up. Also while standing in line for Stan Lee's autograph at the activision booth, some developers asked me questions about previous spidey games and why I liked them. So my guess is that Bendis either played XL3 or a new spidey game since his run on Ultimate Spider-Man was awesome and his version of spidey in new avengers is amazing.

Didnt activision already announce a Spider-Man game is in the works? - no, not future Spider-Man movie tie-ins, but a different stand alone Spider-Man game. Probably with an original story by BMB? Yeah, I know they've dont that already BUT its f#*&ing Activision we're talking about here...

My guess would be magneto because wasn't there a recent report on a movie about him? and he has a good lifetime story, OR maybe gambit...

I remember Raven talking about possibly doing a Deadpool game. That would be cool, also a stand alone GAMBIT game would be sick.

My guess is that its either a Captain America game or a Thor one. Because dont their movies come out later next year or in 2011?
