At GamesCom 2009, G4 caught up with Chris Cook from LucasArts, and he showed us around upcoming PSP and DS title Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron. This handheld edition of the popular series brings gamers right back to the Star Wars Universe, and it's on the DS for the first time ever! Along with showing off the game,
Cook explained how Elite Squadron fits into the progression of the series:
"The first game was all about letting players take part in the epic battles from the Star Wars movies, like Hoth and Endor... Battlefront 2 added space combat, so some levels had you flying around in a tie fighter or X-wing... For Renegade Squadron, we added customization. For Elite Squadron we’re taking all of those ideas from the first games and blowing them out like never before. It’s the biggest Battlefront game we’ve ever made, and Elite Squadron offers some really cool new features we're really excited about."

they need to make this for the consoles because I suck at the psp and the graphics suck for the ds so. so why did they make for the handhelds in the first place I don't know. 1 the first two are on the consoles and they both kicked some a*? 2 they were both on the Xbox and the Playstation 2 so why not the 360 and the PS3?. and finally it makes me outraged that they don't have it out for the consoles yet they leave us Gamers in the Gutter by giving little to no info on the integration to the consoles. Yes basically "battlefront 3" is elite squadron on an xbox so why don't they make it already?
if the companies out of money; get someone with money, the producer afraid of flaws; screw them get someone with the balls and guts to make a good game and be proud of it. I love Lucasfilm and Lucasarts and i grew up with it and it's a part of my childhood, I feel ashamed to see lucasarts hiding this game in fear. I first heard the "rumor" in late 2008 from my cousin, Personally i have waited and hoped even prayed for two years that this game will come out.
I still have high hopes this game comes out but I don't feel as strong about this being good let alone even being released as i did a few months ago. Yeah i would do a backflip to see this game and hit the shelfs and recieve excellent reviews as much as the next guy but I feel outraged, that I and nobody else can play this. I am getting tired of waiting especially for what if's and ohhhhh that looks cool, yeah I got excited when I saw that video about some guy playing the game on the xbox but I'm not satisfied and you shouldn't be. but come on just get the game out already and i'll stop complaining but really who are we kidding when is it going to come out?

Ok, so they make this for the portable system but they DON'T DO IT FOR XBOX OR PS3 or 2, ITS TIME TO MAKE STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT 3. :@

Some pretty cool ideas. Integrating the whole space and ground battle is a cool idea, I've always like that. They did it a bit with Battlefront 2, and I saw it a bit along those same lines in battlefield 1943 with the air and sea battles as well. I'd like to see something on a bit of a bigger scale, that could be a cool idea if done right. I just wouldn't be able to see myself getting into multiplayer on a portable system. I'd take a look at this game on the consoles, but I'm not the portable gamer I used to be. As for the clone trooper with force powers thing, could be a cool story line but Battlefront has never really been a game about storylines. 2 was a bit, but you play battlefront for it's gameplay.
