Man Kicked Out Of Library For Being Awesome, Playing Halo 3

The man you see in the photo above is awesome. He reportedly walked into a NYC library, took out a wireless router, an Xbox 360, monitor, controller, and headset, then sat down to go to work.

After building his gaming command center, the dude started playing Halo 3, Call of Duty and other games using the New York library's public Wi-Fi, barking orders at his team-mates over the headset as he did. Killjoy library officials reportedly shut down his one-man LAN party in like two minutes.

My question: If the dude can't afford an internet connection at home, how can he pay for Xbox Live?

Using the wifi to play is not what bothered me. It's using his headset to shout commands over. Plus, if that is really him in the picture....you're telling me he couldn't find a more private area in the library to play it?

and if this man had a ps3 and didnt have to worry about online fees... he wouldnt have to go to the library, whats more, he would only need the system and its power cord and A/V cables, no router needed..

    @ thisisjon5

He probably got killed & quit that quick.

On a more serious note - If he did it quietly, kudos. Unfortunately, some people can't game without getting STUPID.

I give him points for originality, but subtract a lot for bad execution.

he should go to a private room or something, or simply go to a friend's or relative's house.

I don't think an internet connection doesn't compare to an xbox live account. It's silly to ask why he can't afford an internet connection, but can afford an xbox live account. 50 bucks a month for cable vs. 3 bucks a month for xbox live.

Glad he got kicked out though. As funny as that sounds, I'd be annoyed by this idiot.

    UndiscoveredBum:

Really? The only reason he played for two minutes is because he was booted form the place.

I'm sorry the NYC library didn't allow you to play longer. Go to Panera bread, they also have free wifi.

I was at the library a couple weeks ago and some dude was listening to his MP3 player cranked up and rapping along loudly to the song while wandering around the stacks. I don't know if they told him to knock it off or what but it's highly disrespectful to anyone that was trying to get some work done. Same thing with this bozo. You wanna game quietly or over headphones at a library, then fine. No one should have had a problem with that. You start barking orders over headphones like you are sitting in your living room and start disturbing others and that makes you just as big a p.o.s. as the morons that do talk on cell phones and text at the movie theaters.

If you think what this guy did was "cool" than you are part of the problem. More and more people seem to think their own personal needs outweigh those of anyone around them. It doesn't and the rampant narcissism that has taken hold of our society needs to stop.

Is he trying to hide his controller with an open book in that photo?

This reminds me of a guy I saw at Starbucks once who had set up his huge desktop computer (including the huge tower) at a table as if he was right at home.

That sounds like a lot of games to fit into two minutes.
