Valve's managing director Gabe Newell is a sexy man, and some internet pranksters (or Gabe himself) decided recently to enter Newell in Victoria's Secret's Love Your Body By Victoria contest, a vote-by-web competition where fans of Victoria's Secret shill for votes, and the winner gets a free trip to New York and a pair of panties or something.
Gabe was doing great, too. He was second place in the voting, having earned over 36,000 nods, only falling behind 4Chan founder moot. To put this in perspective, the next entry down (a lady with cancer) has like 8,000 votes. But Victoria's Secret apparently doesn't take too kindly to people trying to rig its contest, so they've taken Newell and moot's entries off the front page of the site. The individual pages are still there, but they're not in the list of winning entries.
It isn't fair that a large, furry man who makes great video games can't win an internet lingerie contest. Victoria's Secret is really being underhanded here by removing him from the front page of their site and the active entries, and I suggest you, TheFeed reader, visit Newell's page and vote for him. It will only take a second, and you know you loved Portal, so do it.

I have one question for you. Do YOU want to see him in lingerie?

yes I agree every time something like this happens they actually hurt their PR by banning these types of events, they could increase their market share make a lot of people laugh and feel good about the company but instead they alienate a lot of people by showing their lack of humor and seem like a cold corporation, it really makes me mad I hate it when someone wins something and then someone that doesn't like it makes the decision anyways against all the votes, what is the point of voting? Shame on you Victoria's Secret I hate you now
The Emperor's Champion
This is freakin' hilarious.
I kinda wish they'd let him win since I just have so much respect for Valve.
That said.....he doesn't exactly compare favorably with Alessandra Ambrosio and Heidi Klum, does he? I can see why VS did it, but it's kinda dumb to let people vote and then just nullify votes.
This is like when Colbert won the NASA contest to have the space station module named after him and they named it something else instead. What's the point in voting if the votes don't count?

I'd do him, just so i can say I did it with a beauty contest winner.

I guess nobody learned anything from Time's Most Influential People poll, which ended up with m00t at #1 and the first letters of the top 21 spelling out MARBLECAKE ALSO THE GAME. Victoria's Secret is messing with the people who control the LOIC, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the entire VS site coming down for this.
However, I must say...DAT HEADLINE. lol
SlickyFats
The contest rules state:
"...tell Victoria's Secret why s/he loves his or her body..."
So I hope he wins.
DreamingDarklyRobin
The headline alone is full of win.

Don't call him fat or he'll push back Episode 3!!!

What trickery is this?

First, as a female, I find it hypocritical that Victoria's Secret, with its stick thin models w/fake boobs are even running such a contest.
So I'm voting and tweeting this ASAP.
