As TheFeed's editor of countdown clocks, I have to applaud developer The Behemoth for its latest edition to this important marketing genre: This countdown clock will expire in nine hours, but rather than counting down to when we will learn of an important event in the future, when this timer reaches zero, something will actually happen: You'll be able to download DLC for Castle Crashers.

The Necromantic Pack will be available tomorrow, August 26th, for 160 Microsoft Points. It will include:

  • Two new Characters: The Necromancer and The Cult Minion
  • A new Animal Orb Dragonhead.
  • Two new Weapons: The NG Skull Mace and yes, …the damn Chainsaw.
  • There should also be picture packs.

Not only that, but The Behemoth hints at even more awesomeness on its forums, saying that the DLC release is "Just in time for Castle Crasher's birthday (on the 27th)." and "I don't know about you, but birthdays make me think of presents." Hmm...usually you give someone a present on their birthday, as opposed to expecting one, but I think in this case it will be the reverse. Find out for sure on the developer's blog on the 27th. I'm expecting cake.

More levels, please! My kids, constantly, want to play the game on my 360 and I enjoyed playing with them and beating the game with them. But, I do not want to play the same levels, over and over and over again! MORE LEVELS! Add a new map or quest! Give us something other than new characters, weapons, and animals!!!

If anything could be considered "Greatest. Arcade. Game. Ever." it would be Shadow Complex. Don't get me wrong, this game is fun and everything, esp. when you're playing it with a group of buddies, but the repetitious hack & slash can get old after a while. *run run run thwack thwack thwack run run run thwack thwack thwack etc etc...* At least The Behemoth's wonderfully cartoonish style and sense of humor helps keep it from getting too dull.

I was so excited until I read it was just characters. I havent even bought the last characters, mainly due to the fact that I've beat it so many time that playing it as a new character doesn't seem worth it at the time. I want a new campaign then I might buy new characters being most of my unlocked characters have had some sort of leveling done to them, so a fresh character would be nice, but for new campaign purposes only.

I wont buy it. I to will not spend money on new character skins and weaponary. These items do not add life to the game, they just change the appearce.

Greatest arcade game? I'll be the judge of that later when this comes to PSN as well as Braid.

Okay, I'm tired of people complaining about stuff costing MS Points (DLC, Themes, etc). Developers work on this stuff JUST AS MUCH as they do when it comes to the games themselves! The same amount of manpower, work, time, energy goes into it...yet people want it for free?!? Don't get me wrong, free is nice and all. But if someone worked their ass off to make something to enhance a game, to add to it, to extend its life, just be thankful! If you don't like it or like the content, stop whining, move on and go play something else. If you don't have the points, either buy them or move on.

I'm sorry to be so straight forward on this, I'm just tired of the complainers when it comes to DLC and the complaint of, "why isn't it free?"

I've never been willing to pay for DLC that doesn't include new missions or gameplay. Going through the same old stuff with new characters or weapons has always seemed like a bit of a ripoff to me, personally. I can go back and play through castle crashers without the add ons and enjoy it just the same.

Hopefully the present has something to do with more levels/activities. New characters and stuff is nice but you can only play so much before it gets repetitive.
