My PS3 just took a crap, I called PS and they told me I'd have to pay $150.00 to get it fixed! They said it sounded like the cooling system. They should fix it for free!! I still have PS1 and PS2, they were cheaper then $600.00 and they still work! So no I won't be buying a slim. I would like to buy a X-Box, the only reason I still have a PS is because of the great games exclusive for PS, but I see most games are abondoning PS and going to X-Box as well as PS, like FINAL FANTASY. For the person who said forget Microsoft because of the hassel they gave you, PS gave me the same to fix my PS3!

hell yeah I'd buy it it's only 50$ more than a wii it's about time sony thought about us as gamers instead of targeting rich pigs all the time this could put ps3 back on the map competition finally I can play mgs4 without saying I spent this months rent on entertainment XD

I had a slim ps2. It destroyed my games besides the slims feel flimsy to me. I think its time i tried 360.

Not sure. If it's not backward capatable then no, because lord knows I love to play the good ol' PS2 Games. But if the exclusives coming out are as good as the press say they are, It definatly might cross my mind.
And that's saying something considering I'm a Hardcore 360 User.

I bought Mine Already. And man, Am I Glad I did... My first PS3 was a 40g. Then I got an 80g... And Now I have the slim, Lighter, smaller, and well worth it. A lot of people say it is going to have overheating problems like the PS2 slim(PS2 slim has overheating problems?!?!?! I never knew, mine worked perfectly) Well, are they wrong or what... I have played it (PS3 Slim) for hours and hours, the Console gets a bit warm on the back side of the console... You might think "I MUST GIVE IT A REST!!!"... But, this temperature stays the same for over countless hours of gameplay or movie watching... Since the case is small, of coarse it is going to heat up a bit... But this is completely normal, as long as the fan does not hit "Level 2" you are doing great... (Tip, give the PS3 space to let the hot air flow). I bought it about a week ago, and on this week I have not gotten to "Level 2" on the fan... And I play For more than 5 hours without stopping... I SAY BUY IT, GReat Console, New Drop PRice, And it is probably the most releaible console to Date... I RATE THE PS3 SLim 5/5
