Unlike Xbox Originals, Microsoft is seriously committed to adding new content to its Games On Demand downloadable service over Xbox Live. This week, the company has added Burnout Paradise and Need For Speed: ProStreet to the lineup.
Technically, Microsoft also uploaded FIFA 09, but since it's not available to anyone in Australia, New Zealand, North America or the U.K., the announcement is somewhat mooted.
Both Burnout Paradise (4GB) and Need For Speed: ProStreet (5GB) are available for $19.99 in North America, but pricing is not standard worldwide. You'll want to check Xbox.com to verify pricing in your region before deciding $19.99 is a worthy price -- it might not be $19.99.
I'm still debating pulling the trigger on Assassin's Creed, since I'd like to give the original a shot before the sequel later this year, but $29.99 is a little pricey. In this case, Ubisoft and Microsoft are only encouraging me to head to GameStop, where the game's used price is $19.99.

I think Microsoft raised prices because they lowered prices on the XBox360. Doubt its just a "coincidence." I download the Ultimate Package for BOP on PSN for $29.99 because i never bought the original CD game, and its a great deal IMO. PSN still has the plain game for $19.99. And thats a great deal seeing as how its a full game, great online play, and overall fun. But like he said above, $29.99 for a game thats older than BOP, even though its a great game, is unreasonable.

yea, it seems that Microsoft has raised prices instead of lowering them.
What used to cost 800 Microsoft points,is now 1,200 microsoft points,
this sucks....I dowloaded the new Red Faction DLC,but have 800 points left, and all the games I want are 1200 points,damn,damn,damn.......Burnout Paradise should be 800 points, come on Microsoft, make some freaken sales !!! Lower the prices,honestly....

This on demand thing is just a cheap shottie gimmick to sucker gamers into paying more for something they can't sell back and eat up space on their HD's.I rather buy the used copy at my local Gamestop for half the price less than go and resell it on Ebay or Amazon.

Maybe its me but, wasn't Burnout Paradise already on G.o.D?

i say go to gamestop and get it because it's cheaper buying used games. That way Microsoft makes no money at all since it is used games lol...They wont reduce the price if people or buying into dl games and don't even go to the store to know what the pricing is now O.O... I recomend checking gamestop online for used game and see the difference first before buying a dl game.

M$ is lame. i admit i was a fanboy but no longer. i gave my xbox hd to my brother so he can have my gamertag and what not. i will buy a ps3 slim and never look back. ps is doing great things and i cant say that much for M$. i have no comment worth making online about m$ project natal. but M$ lost me out of this digital bullsht.

yep its $19.99 for assassins creed here to and if you have the edge card its even less. so for me its still gamestop unless they lower it and i can get a discount.. by the way is there any other blockbusters closing the one 2 mins from me is closing so i might have to use gamefly or drive a good 30 mins.

Burnout Paradise is $19.99 BRAND NEW. How can they charge $19.99 for a download copy? More proof of M$ ripping people off. Assassin's Creed is $19.99 BRAND NEW as well but M$ is charging $29.99 for the download?! Wow, just wow. Who in their right mind would pay these rip off prices when you can get the disc cheaper?
mark8240
This is good for the consumer, it brings a little competition to Gamestop used game prices (where i buy most of my games). hopefully will all see the occasional price drops on both sides. I know if i can go down to Gamestop and get a disk copy for cheaper then that's what im going to do.

I agree. I find the On Demand thing as further encouragement to go to Gamestop or Game Crazy. But yesterday lent me a story that disheartened me about Game Crazy.
I went to my local Game Crazy yesterday for a MS points card to get The Pitt and Broken Steel (Fallout 3 DLC for those who don't know). I was talking about how a friend of mine had told me about Broken Steel bumping your level cap up. At this point, the manager (THE FRICKIN' MANAGER) jumps in the conversation to straight up call me a liar (in those words) and said my friend couldn't POSSIBLY know anything about Broken Steel because the street date is today.
Meanwhile, I was purchasing an MS points card and trading 360 games.
So, this was when I took the step back and reminded his dumb ass in the wrong profession that Fallout 3 has DLC available for 2 other platforms that aren't the PS3 and MS gained the timed exclusive rights for it (he gave me the whatever shrug).
I'd like to thank the community and G4 staff for giving me the knowledge to shut that dude up. But the disheartening comes in knowing that Game Crazy hires people like that.
He literally called me and my friend liars.

Now, I finally agree with you on something. A Miracle perhaps??? The EB Games by my house, and the Best Buys down the street, both sell Assassin's Creed NEW for $19.99. So, in reality Microsoft is forcing the uninformed to pay $30 for a Digital Copy of a game that they save a massive amount of money on, for $10 or more than the Physical Product is at Retailers........Why, Microsoft?? Why, when you and Developers and Publishers save so much money with Digital Distribution, do you Over Charge us instead of sharing some of the savings with us???
Something tells me Microsoft is much more greedy than I thought. And I once thought they were one giant Republican Money Eating machine made in Wall Street by Genetically Mutated Stock Brokers.....Something tells me I am not far off.
